That's the whole point, you're correct, it was a new article which simply was regurgitating old (very) news under the title of 'latest news'.
I don't know whether it was simply poor journalism or there may have been some other motive but if you came away with the impression that another massive handout had been thrown at the Oxford/Imperial projects, then I'm sure many others did too. The quality of reporting during this pandemic has ranged from excellent to completely fake news and you just can't take anything at face value any more.
Of course what they could have reported is that the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine has produced some promising early results, that first patients have now been dosed in the Imperial Trial, that the Oxford vaccine has now been given to over 8000 patients in the UK and the trial is also running in Brazil and South Africa, that there are at least 18 different vaccines worldwide in clinical trials,..................that real progress is being made on many fronts at an incredible pace.
