Looks like Scancell have been doing some work on their website. It's been a while since I looked properly and some of the changes may have been there a while, but they've certainly changed the navigation around the Investors section. Credit where credit is due, it's now much improved.

Someone last night (sorry can't remember who) was asking for a good place to look to research Scancell and I'd strongly recommend the website now. It's easy to navigate and the news section is particularly useful if you don't want to get bogged down in the science.

If anyone from Scancell is looking in, thanks for the improvements but could we also have a 'forthcoming events' section so shareholders can keep track of any conferences Scancell are attending.

As you know, when it comes to funding applications and at a later stage attracting support for further development, these COVID-19 vaccines have to differentiate themselves from the competition. A DNA vaccine administered via standard injection is at an immediate advantage over those delivered via electroporation. Think we've discussed before here the logistical and cost issues of a truly global vaccination programme using electroporation. If they have solved the problem of how to administer SN11 without electroporation then that's an important step forward (IMO)

Yep, confirmation that as hoped they're not going to be using electroporation but will administer the vaccine with a standard injection. I wonder whether the work by the School of Pharmacy might have been behind the delay to a funding decision? It may be that the review panel wanted confirmation of the delivery method before giving away any funds. Who knows?

Will be interesting to read the detail around the CLNs when the circular is posted to Scancell's website. In the meantime we do know that the redemption date is 2 years from issue date (presumably the date of the GM, 12th August) .

Also as mentioned in previous discussions here, Scancell do have a couple of R&D tax rebates due and the RNS this morning confirmed that the amount due is £2.5m.

'The net proceeds of the Placing (and assuming receipt of a £2.5 million tax credit) are expected to provide the Company with working capital to at least the fourth quarter of 2022. The net proceeds of the Open Offer, to the extent it is subscribed for, will further extend this cash runway.'

Redmile are involved with another bio in my portfolio, Redx Phama. There are some similarities between the comapnies IMO, both operating in the oncology field, both creating and developing their own IP, so genuinely innovative as opposed to a virtual bio picking up someone else's IP. The history is too complicated to explain but you can look for yourself if you want by reading relevant RNS announcements.

Sounds like they may increase the valuation but we probably shouldn't expect a huge increase in the target price.

Ruck, I don't think anyone can deny that long term holders have been severely diluted here. To a certain extent, it goes with the territory and anyone going long on an early stage bio would be naive not to expect dilution. What counts is the value added by the funds raised and we have had a series of fundings, which for various reasons have not yet delivered on the aims outlined at outset.

Scancell now has a clear cash runway with sufficient funds to develop the pipeline. Technical issues with Moditope have been overcome and additional trial centres agreed for SCIB1. They simply have to start delivering that value now and each of us has to make a judgement call as to whether we believe they will or not and invest accordingly.

If there has been any participation form the BOD, we may not find out until the results of the placing are announced. I expect an RNS will be issued by the end of the day.

It's the removal of cloud of uncertainty regarding Scancell's funding position, together with the type of investor they have attracted. Have posted before about the lack of interest from a specialist healthcare fund here and that issue has now been put to bed.

I haven't read the detail fully but initial reaction is that on the plus side:-

1) Scancell have finally managed to attract Us investment and a biotech./healthcare specialist fund. Worth noting that BioNTech are one of Redmile's portfolio companies.
2) Vulpes are also continuing to support the Company
3) It gives Scancell access to a reasonable amount of funding and they should now be able to do justice to the pipeline
4) The price is better than feared
5) It removes the uncertainty of funding

On the negative side, they have required funding before any commercial deals could be secured and they have gone down the convertible loan route. It is what it is I suppose but now I hope that the Company can crack on.

Yes, the question was answered yesterday. If Scancell had been refused funding, I don't think the question wouldn't have been asked or answered in that manner.
