Daisy dog.. I don't subscribe to a BMN leak but if it's Eskom it could easily come from there.
I did list other options other than news from the BMN camp but I don't think those options would lead to such a huge one day jump.
Like everyone here I have no idea but if I were to put my neck out on anything based on what we know is in the pipeline, timing, CV effect and market sensitivity I would have to go with Eskom. That said, it's about what we know and there could still be the odd unknown to come. An unknown however might be more worrying re a leak.

Personally its got to be Eskom... I don't know what else would excite the market like this... They've been happy to ignore all the other great news items which for them are unknowns whereas everyone and his cat has heard of Eskom.

Sorry, I haven't had chance to read all the posts for the last few days, so apologies in advance if I repeat what has already been discussed.
1. Shorting - perhaps there were still some shorts open but they remained under the threshold and have finally been closed.
2. Seller - perhaps the seller has finally stopped selling but who was he selling to??? Perhaps he/it/them are now happy to move the price up so they can sell those same shares back into the market at a much higher price.
3. MM's/Brokers - perhaps they've finally woken up to the fact BMN is more than just a mining one trick pony with the news RTO of Avalon/RedT being completed and BMN's shareholding in the new company being confirmed.
4. The Wider Market - money has to go somewhere and there's lots needing a home right now having ditched they riskier investments. Maybe they are the ones now buying in.
5. News - there is lots of news still to come out of BMN and much of it can still go ahead. Eskom awarding a tender can still happen even though the dates may have to be changed. RK perhaps you could go through your list and divide it into News which can still be forthcoming and News which may have to be put on hold....thanks in advance.
6. Qtly Updates - again these could be issued early.
7. Lemur - a sale deal can still go ahead if they want to sell this on and have a buyer.

Whatever has caused this bump up, it's a welcome bump ....

Personally, I'm hoping we might see one or more licencing deals fairly soon especially with a big pharma to get the production levels up quickly but more importantly so Primerdesign won't have to carry the paperwork but instead get a licencing fee/percentage of sales.

I think the article is just a compilation of recent events including the US FDA approval not a French FDA approval.

Coldspy... I live in France and I can honestly say you are wrong. The UK is highly respected and still yields a good punch globally. The market globally for the likes of Synairgen inhaler is massive and there will be a place for many different products and manufacturers but they will still have to pass regulatory testing. Givts around the world know they can't screw this one up...

@ 100,000 test per day it will take 2 years to test everyone in the UK!!!!

tomvisual...I assume the next step will be for Primerdesign will licence out their IP to Big Pharma to allow them to also manufacture to the scale needed to support the swab testing gearing up. It looks more and more likely that an anti-body test will not be available by end April. If the UK is scaling up to 100,000 test per day, the rest of the World will be scaling up too and Matt Han**** said yesterday that this number did not account for an anti-body test.
He also confirmed anti-body tests had been ordered but only on the basis they worked...

I used to be heavily involved in logistics and what is happening right now chaps, not just with testing but the whole supply chain of products and equipment needed to keep key workers safe etc is off the scale....especially when the whole world is clambering for the same stuff...

Announced/explained today.. The Primerdesign is a swab test. Lack of lab testing facilities so had to build new ones... Etc etc...
The new five pillar plan outlines the ambitions to:

Scale up swab testing in PHE labs and NHS hospitals for those with a medical need and the most critical workers to 25,000 a day by mid to late April;
Deliver increased commercial swab testing for critical key workers in the NHS, before then expanding to key workers in other sectors;
Develop blood testing to help know if people have the right antibodies and so have high levels of immunity to coronavirus;
Conduct surveillance testing to learn more about the spread of the disease and help develop new tests and treatments; and
Create a new National Effort for testing, to build a mass-testing capacity at a completely new scale
