Yeah fingers crossed, problem with Government is, they don’t understand the Leisure Tourism sector at all, and Grant Schapps is a waste of space. I think that’s why they have the Taskforce so they get input from the people in it! To understand it’s needs, especially for stability. The big 4 mass operators will not survive another Summer of ‘off and on’ there already on fumes. Knowing my contacts in it Im very confident this should now be rectified. Fingers crossed. If they don’t give a mention to Cruising of some form I’ll be extremely shocked?

We know that UK Cruise Seacations have already been given the green light by the Government, we just need a ‘one liner’ from them on that to give the public reassurance.

Seems the Government are extremely hesitant on foreign travel but pressure has been building and building now for some weeks...if they delay the announcement again there’ll be uproar. The Easyjet CEO seems to be starting to lose his rag with them, along with others.

I expect the same as last year for traffic light style system but with more stability, as they can’t just keep switching flights/holidays off and on like a tap.

As said before, I expect the mass volume tourists spots, Balearics, Canaries, Mainland Spain, Greece and Cyprus etc to be green lighters...anything Mid to Long Haul, a little bit sketchy till later in the year.

Is anyone on Trading 212? It just flashed up ‘Delisted’ on Saga, which I’ve never seen before? Can anyone interpret this?

Hi BB, Yes I noticed this yesterday myself, but thought I’d wait till after results.
My initial thought is our work maybe in vain...as the true availability is not actually being shown, and they are drip feeding cabins through. So we can’t get a true reflection.
It could be that they are doing this to get more money/charge more because of demand?? Similar to low cost airlines in a way, when 10 seats get sold it moves to the next price bracket etc etc?

On the conference call this morning, Euan specifically mentioned though that they were 78% full.

I’m more than happy now these will be sold out in a week or two, especially after the announcement. I think my initial estimate of 1 DAY might have been a little OTT haha..Good day today, and much relief.

The problem in the travel industry has been, companies can’t furlough because there are so many cancellations, refunds, admin that needs doing while no cash generated. In fact the opposite.

There has obviously been a lot of work done. You need staff to do that work. Not using furlough maybe a good plan. Short term loss, long term gain??

One thing I’ve noticed in the market is when there is good news, the SP falls/flattens. When not so good news it rises? Very bizarre. I think it will take 24/48 hours for the good results to filter through.
There seems to be a lot of new private investors, including myself by the way, who automatically think, great there is a recovery, and go straight for the big brands, like Easyjet, Jet2 & TUI etc as inexperienced and not done research. It’s the little gems little Saga, fairly under the radar which will go unnoticed. IMHO, DYOR. P.s. Any company in this Covid climate that makes a profit is a goer. Especially under the new family management. We seem to forget apart from a few that it’s a 70% insurance company.
