I have made attempts to find out about the new JCB H2 engine as to what purity of H2 is required. As I recall, the compression is about 250-300 in use, 400 in storage. Anyone know about the purity required for H2 engines.?
Also, mention was made that the H2 was approx $3-4/kg, with expectations of $1/kg in the med-long term as production increases.
and a growing list of established, influential construction ‘giants’ on board, they may well be lobbying to get ‘net-zero’ subsidies to discount the transition away from diesel.
…are you looking to get more as low as poss.?
whatever, …it’s good news for the flex-fuel Power-Tower.
With the list of names, so far, in the target construction industry, combined they must represent a ball-park 25%+ of the total GB market. That has not happened by chance.!
Well done all at AFC.
Rekon that is quite just how this product will reach market acceptance. Well put Bondy. It just cannot be taken for granted that over-night the Power-Tower replaces diesel gen’s.!, …a good start is a good start.!
.
As initial market entry, sounds ok, plenty of big names involved, operation and costs/profit will likely improve in the medium term. Real market entry the most significance.
The credibility aspect is of the highest importance. The target market is data centres back-up power supply. This is still very new technology. What data centres require above all else is reliability of power supply on-demand. In Mr Koeken they have someone they have had previous dealings, built a trust relationship, and now know they have virtually a direct link to the source with the additional benefits/guarantees of dealing with ABB.
The whole affair would have been an agreement between the three parties, AFC, ABB, and Mr Koeken. All three parties stand to benefit. Dates of departing/starting are of no importance. Part of the action of the move is to increase confidence and credibility for ABB’s clients.
With JCB putting their new hydrogen engine as the direct replacement for their diesel engine, they have obviously had to address the issue of fuel supply to sites. They have the solution and overall, their design and operation equates to Hydrogen replacing diesel with barely no difference to current techniques and the same performance of the machines.
All adding to the acceptance of Hydrogen replacing diesel ‘seamlessly’.!
leading up to the expected March 8 statement. Volume has been steady around 1-2m daily swinging insignificantly to buys/sells in majority.
Rekon the volume might pick-up Monday and Tuesday, to sell on Wednesday news or not.? It probably is about time some major positive news comes from AFC.!
Three ‘buys’ just gone through @28.25, 3x700k.! worth approx £600k.
Although it seems likely the volume might be easing after Tuesday’s near 10m, the buys are still out-pacing the sells. The market is generally positive today, maybe this +50% rise will hold …supported by good news will help.!
and on the best early volume and buy/sell ratio for many weeks.!
Yes snork, I was chatting with a guy who works for a hedge-fund who said the 100 is irrelevant due to the mining emphasis. Not sure how ‘more’ relevant the 250 is, which has also been rising well.
Nice to see the AFC rise, not big volumes, and sells more than buys.! News due anytime soon.
Agree, unlikely a PowerTower or two. A market opportunity none the less.
The bbc outside broadcast from Wild Ken Hill in Norfolk “is powered by Hydrogen, with the only by product being heat and water.” Clearly a FuelCell …is it AFC.?
The HS2 project needs as much positive angles as possible, this could make national news or maybe just London.
Some here refer to this as an ‘open secret’ or not RNS worthy.! ..more and more news please.
Thanks hmch, that link was V.helpful.
I very much like the prospect that ammonia could be generally accepted as the fuel of H2. With PEM’s focusing on ammonia aswell, it can only be positive for AFC offering the cheapest and most tolerant option.
