I have noticed that there is a similar game for the chinese market, often translated to english as "Devil War Record" and was curious whether Crystal Saga is the USA license of this international game, or whether it is an independently developed game. If it is a USA license for an international game, would you mind telling me whom you dealt with to come to this agreement? I ask this because a company that I am invested in called Galleon Holdings has a license for the distribution of "Devil War Record" in China and I wonder is there any connection between your company and theirs. I am reasearching their activities further to determine the quality of the investment. Many thanks for your help.

Joe Bloggs,
The games are in fact one and the same. We possess an exclusive North American publishing license for the game (acquired from the game's developer). Galleon Holdings (wowan365) has an exclusive license to publish in China (although have recently brought on several joint publishers).
Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.
Thanks,
Jared

Jared,
Many thanks for your help. I just have one further question. I believe that the game is also licenced to a number of other Asian countries and possibly in South America. Do you know who operates these licences and whether Galleon holdings own any of the other licences? I think you have a fantastic product, and judging by the success of this game in the chinese market, it will no doubt do well in the USA.
Thanks again for your help
Andrew
Joe Bloggs,
The game has been licensed and is out in Taiwan/HK, Japan, Korea, SE Asia etc. I'm pretty sure the developers have signed most all markets by now (especially Asian markets, where the style of the game is pretty much certain to be a success). I haven't asked about South America in a while, but last I checked they were already in negotiations. To the best of my knowledge, Galleon does not hold any licenses aside from Mainland China.
We are launching our open beta tonight (and turning on the payment system) - and have high hopes for the game as well. Obviously, the game is doing phenomenal in China (and from what I've heard in other Asian markets as well).
Here are some of the non-mainland Chinese copies of the games:

Singapore/Malaysia: http://somc.xixigames.com/
Japan: http://lakatonia.entercrews.com/
Glad to help.

From the above email exchange, it looks like Galleon have an exclusive distribution agreement with the developers of the game, but only for mainland China. From what Jared said in his first email, it looks like Galleon have allowed Devil War Record to appear on other chinese sites, and presumably has a revenue sharing agreement with them to do this. I think this information goes some way to clarify the ownership situation which has been debated in recent months. I hope
