most folks should at least know that the reporting (or flagging) of buys versus sells or unknowns is based entirely on the mid price of the bid and ask at the time of the TRADE therefore one should focus entirely on the logic that for every buy someone has to be selling and for every sale someone has to have bought them as there is no black hole or warehouse or secret stock piling going on by MM's or such like
so on the basis that they are in essence matched trades and by using your numbers from above, one should merely think of it as 39,153,606 shares swapping investors hands on the day
the key to something in the market place perhaps happening is always the numbers stacked on the bid side and ask side of the book at any given time and the actual traded volume at the time or at the end of a day so any silly software that flags and reports buys or sells or unknowns doesn't interest me and nor should it interest others, because as I have already said what it is programmed to flag and report is inherently flawed
its a simple case of supply and demand that dictates the price and the MM's are there simply to make a market by matching or bringing the buyers and sellers together to strike a willing trade and deal
a raft of buyers in the queue with few sellers and the price will be moved up
a raft of sellers in the queue with few buyers and the price will be moved down
anyone that has ever been to a real live auction (or watched homes under the hammer lol) will understand the principle in price logic and I'm afraid it really is that simple and anyone telling you different is full of it
