why don't you suggest to Harry to do a RKH style open offer...?

an open offer on the following terms...

180 million shares @ 1p per share (roughly 44% discount just like last years) to raise £1.8 million (before expenses) which would cover the next 12 months capital requirements with a subsequent (exercisable within 12 months) option of 1 warrant @ 2p per share for every 2 open offer shares subscribed for which would raise another £1.8 million (before expenses) in additional funds covering the following 12 months expenditure IF 100% exercised.

any 100% uptake on warrants would of course only occur IF the SP recovered back to 2p or more or worse case there or there abouts and that in itself somewhat acts as an incentive for management to ensure it does.

360 million new shares (IF 100% warrants exercised) would be just a tad over 1 billion shares in circulation with virtually 2 whole years funding in place to get this elusive farm out secured...

I for one would be interested in subscribing to any offer if that was the incentivised (open offer shares plus optional warrants at a later date) deal just like I did with the RKH 7p open offer shares and 9p warrants...

RKH did it to tide them over for a couple of years until they got some cash from the Ombrina Mare case...

BOR would be doing it until they either secure a farm in partner or raise the cash by some other means...

Update on the consultation on Sea Lion offshore oil development

On Tuesday 2 July 2024 it was announced that Navitas Petroleum Development and Production Ltd (Navitas) issued a revised Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) concerning its proposals for the drilling of oil wells and offshore production from the Sea Lion Field Northern Development Area, Phase 1 and 2.

The Falkland Islands Government began a public consultation on this revised EIS, from 2 July 2024 to 13 August 2024.

A total of 25 representations were received from individuals, businesses and other organisations, with several FIG departments also submitting representations.

The representations have been shared with Navitas, who now have 28 days to review the submissions and provide FIG with a response. This may result in revisions to the EIS, which will be presented to ExCo. After this, the representations and Navitas response will be made public.

The Department of Mineral Resources would like to thank members of the public and organisations for their active participation on the EIS process.

Last years buy back period commenced on 16th May 2023

on 16th May 2023 there were 884,604,105 shares in circulation

during the ensuing period the company bought back 17,702,694 shares in total

TODAY there are 914,270,730 shares in circulation

an overall INCREASE of 29,666,625 shares (not including the 17.7 million they bought back and cancelled)

with almost 30 million more shares floating around today then surely all any long standing shareholder can openly and honestly say is, what a complete and utter waste of time and money that was 😂

A lot of companies do exactly that

they buy back shares and hold them in treasury so they can issue them back out in the future to employee's

they do this simply to get around seeking formal shareholder approvals on the issuance of new shares

the net effect on issued shares is zero and hence a waste of money

1. it's a gravy train for management and employee's

2. it's a clear sign of a company with excess cash rolling in and no idea how to operationally spend it to grow the company

buy backs (at least for me) only really work (as a shareholder value for money option) when they are written off (cancelled and removed from treasury) once they are bought back

the net result of the cancellation action being the true number of shares reduces and the financial logic would say as a result of there now being less shares around the share price should rise in relation to any like for like market cap

of course doesn't always work like that but the logic says it should or at least would

any company buying back shares and simply holding them in treasury for long periods of time as a result of having excess cash gets a red flag from me purely for a lack of ambition or ideas on how to better grow the company whether that is done operationally inhouse or externally via acquisitions
