RE: Revenue Recognition Policy2 Feb 2018 20:19
My last few words on this as it is not worth too many more. I advertise a car online and do the viewings and negotiate with the buyers etc. Some will charge a minimum FEE for listing and a success FEE if you sell, some just charge you for a FEE for advertising. There are different models. Give your car to a garage and they will try and sell on a forecourt and charge you a COMMISSION based on the sale price. Pay your money and take a chance whatever model catches your eye and to suit your level of knowledge and confidence to negotiate on cars or properties. In time, the poor business models which do not offer value for money will wither on the vine which is a historical fact. EBay motors is doing really well but garage forecourts are not. PB have established a model which many, many people really like just look at the growth rates from nothing a few years ago - spectacular on any measure. Here we have an unregulated industry in which someone with no qualifications can set up an agency and call themself an expert. Yes that is correct. Yes, there are those ARICS qualified agents who are professional and competent and can discuss asset price inflation models and sophisticated sales strategies which may add value but we can all see what sells and at what price. So, the old model is on life support and anyone with a modicum of intelligence can see that. PB share price in a few years time will be multiples of where it is today - why, I hear you say, because most of the high street agencies will have either disappeared or shrunk As they try to establish an online model with a FEE structure and model which competes. So, get with the programme my friend.
