Further to the announcement of 13 December 2017, Greatland Gold plc (AIM: GGP), the precious and base metals exploration and development company, provides an update on the Ernest Giles project and results of work conducted by Newmont Exploration Pty Ltd ("Newmont"), a subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation (NYSE: NEM).

Newmont has informed the Company that its current corporate priorities are largely focused in other districts. Consequently, it has informed Greatland that it will not be proceeding with the project at this time. Newmont's six month right of first refusal over the Ernest Giles Project has already lapsed in accordance with the agreement announced 16 May 2017.

Newmont's DSG survey has been successful in defining a new large gold anomaly, covering an area of approximately 5km by 1.5km and untested by previous drilling.

Greatland Gold continues to hold 100 per cent of the project and is well financed to proceed with its alternative plans to progress with an exploration programme using the results of the Deep Sensing Geochemistry ("DSG") survey conducted by Newmont.

Key highlights of the DSG results included:

· Large 5km long by 1.5km wide gold anomaly identified, oriented in an east-west direction, that sits approximately 1km to the north of Greatland's previous drilling;

· The large anomaly identified has not been drill tested and sits perpendicular to the regional geological strike suggesting a strong structural control on mineralisation;

· Several additional robust gold anomalies successfully identified, many of which have not been drill-tested; and

· DSG survey was also successful in identifying overall basement lithological trends and recognised a belt parallel alteration signature commonly associated with large scale mineralised systems.

The plan on the web site shows just how large this is, a very long curving anomaly getting wider in the North.
The southern extensions of it on the old licence is Meadows, it just dwarfs Meadows big time.
Meadows possible site of a 5m oz deposit ?

I don't like the price falling as much as anyone else.
My highest price paid was around 34p but I'm not too concerned that will seem cheap very soon.
The main problem for the drop is Private Investors, too many chasing quick money.
The short sited sell on news investors started this drop, big investors are driving it now but they're starting to hit the buffers. Long term investors are holding on and stock is getting tighter.
Holding on to your shares means the stock gets tighter.

Excited to know how far this goes to the NW I have my suspicions but too iffy to say at the moment .
What about overlaying Goliath onto the Scallywag licence between Kraken and Havieron, it would give it a sense of scale, which is massive:))

The highest MMI results for silver I've seen was at Saddlereef but not recorded in the drill results.
When gold dore bars are produced at Telfer these contain about 75% gold, around 5% silver and the rest is iron.
Dores are around 25kg.
The exact figures may never be revealed from Newcrest financial accounts

Steve Todoruk said he would class a 300m length intercept with 2g/t gold as a fabulous High grade zone.

"New Eastern Breccia Zone: A potential new fourth target area, the “Eastern Breccia”, has been identified by growth drilling from two drill holes, including 342.2m @ 2.0g/t Au, 0.11% Cu from 1536.8m (HAD084). Encouragingly, the new Eastern Breccia highlights the potential for a new region of breccia development not previously recognised and extends mineralisation externally to the ovoid-shaped Crescent sulphide zone."

My subsequent research has shown these breccias are within an enlarged ovoid beneath the previously announced ovoid and are not separate.
That 1539m is length of hole and not true depth.
Confirmed Mineralisation at present is around the 1100m of ore at c1500m true depth. The Eastern breccias are at present around this depth but look as though they continue downwards.
Still open at depth,east, north, SE and may connect to the Northern extension which is not proven but looking a strong possibility.
Mostly consists of concreted breccias which have higher grades than the crackle breccias.

When you look at the cross sections for Goliath 1,000-2,000m looks like the magnetic anomaly has forced it's way into the gravity anomaly and got stuck at 1,000m and pressure has forced an intrusion up into the top layer.
The top intrusion could be double the size of Havieron.
The mind boggles at the shear size of the bottom layer coincidence from North to South. That's Kraken to Havieron and wider than the width of Scallywag, if it is mineralised the sp will hit the moon
