That link I put up about dilution describes 2 types of internal and external dilution.
Well the only internal waste is the Dyke but that could also be described as external if you look at it as 2 ore bodies.
External dilution has a 2m zone around the perimeter where blasting will bring in some waste rock.
The internal dilution well is there any?
I've tried to say in my posts today that the whole ore body is mineralised some zones far more than others but nevertheless mineralised.
From this I'm trying to suggest there won't be a great deal of waste rock apart from the external dilution.
I know Hannams have 15% dilution figure but that's not fixed that's a standard rate and a lot of factors can reduce it.
Being a vertical ore pipe is a huge plus, for instance Minyari has a 45 degree dipping ore body that's a big negative as the external dilution is greater.
Our Dyke though is a big negative that's 2m either side of external dilution.

An underground crusher will crush the ore to around 4" .
A ball mill could be installed at Havieron with the latest sensors to pick out waste rock.
The next option would be a dilution system to transport the ore by pipeline and dewater the other end, this would depend on water supplies and as Havieron is in a desert that may be difficult.
I'm half expecting 2 or 3 Declines needed with possibly a conveyor one coming out next to the haul road in Scallywag. The mine plan will tell us that.

Road Haulage to start with but ultimately it looks like a railway especially if Scallywag succeeds or Blackhills and PRE.

I've posted a lot about the transport, well done for posting your thoughts.
Those big CATS won't be used to transport 45km the tyres won't take it.
Have a look at the Kenworth 5 trailer road trains or the Volvo 3 bedders.
The Decline design is ok for 2m tons according to Hannams

Personally I can't see a takeover/ merger by NCM at this time.
NCM priorities at the moment are to keep their production rates up
Cadia and Lihir are in transition , huge sums needed for next phases.
Telfer is running low, the AISC's in last weeks reports are rising rapidly, one part has $1700 AISC can't be making money.
Red Chris and Havieron have Declines to fund and exploration costs.

Too many costs at the moment to start thinking of takeovers in my opinion

This is my interpretation of why Havieron is a fully mineralised ore body.
The thoughts by others at the moment is Havieron is part of a District wide discovery.
Tectonic plate movements have formed many thrust or fault lines through the Paterson causing huge pressures and molten material running in a NW to SE lines. One area stretches from Winu , Minyari, Blackhills,Scallywag, Havieron, Rudall. Another stretching through Paterson Range East.
Hot molten layers forming deep down would have found weak points to reach the surface.
The pressures were not intense enough to form volcanoes and explode.
The first molten intrusion at Havieron would have forced its way through a weak point splitting and cracking the rocks as it rose.
The heat would have drawn in minerals from the surrounding rock layers concentrating them in the ore body.
As this heat resided the ore body shrank leaving a shrinkage crack around the perimeter and also the middle of it sank leaving a dip later filling with non mineralised intrusion.
The result of this event left lots of fractured small mineralised rocks called breccias or crackle breccias.
A second event forced hot sulphides up through the shrinkage cracks and into the surrounding fractures around the breccias.
The sulphides formed quartz and other silicas around the breccias called concreted breccias.

Therefore the actual breccias themselves are mineralised with weak mineralisation and the sulphides have added more mineralisation in the cracks of the concreted breccias.
In my mind it seems unlikely there will be barren zones within the ore body apart from the 50m deep intrusion at the top.
Also the sulphides would have formed larger zones of concreted breccias the deeper it goes.

There's 2 types of cobalt mineralisation in Australia
Pyrite- sulphides and sedimentary Laterites.
A lot of countries are not allowing new mines of Laterite extraction to go ahead because of the huge environmental damage during the processing and ecological damage to the waste.
Sulphide cobalt processing is less damaging when made into a cobalt concentrate powder.
copper and nickel concentrates contain cobalt and is in the residue after the copper and nickel cathodes are produced and then formed into cobalt cathodes.

So cobalt from Laterite ores are not good but from sulphide ores can be dealt with.

The angle of Had 084 meant the drill went diagonally through the top of the Eastern breccias. It's a big continuous zone of concreted breccias.
The latest Ggp presentation showed it as I suggested one large ore pipe widening out at 900m of ore depth down to 1300m not as previously stated 1100m.
This depth is too deep now for angled drilling it will be done from inside the Decline lower down.
Mining can go to 2300m true depth so theoretically it could go another 600m below this stated depth of 1300m ore or 170 true depth.
I don't think I said it will be less than 60m oz as Jerry just put.
If it gets down to 2300m with concreted breccias it could pass that quantity but that's way in the future
