I know we’re drilling Parlay at the moment, I don’t believe they have finished there yet, they may move on from there to Tama but I’m not hopeful of that one.
Parlay for me is the exciting one, this is the one Newcrest wanted drilling, I’m hoping this is the one that will be burn the shorters and the fact it will be the last one on the jv this drilling season.
It’s similar situation to Apollo straddling the border with NCM/Apollo jv.
Then onto Swan could be a good possibility there and only 50m of cover, then down to Teach.
There’s a possibility of doing Rudall but what I don’t understand about that is we’ve had no indication of any survey work where will they drill and in what direction or depth. I’m sceptical on drilling this one this year.

Ernest Giles licence is very long , comparing the length to the M25 it would be 2/3rds of that Motorway.
To be honest it’s too big for Ggp in my opinion at the present time but targeting a 5m oz target at Meadows might bring another joint venture not necessarily Newmont as they didn’t want it at that time.
Big prize though 2x 5m targets plus other 1m camps.
Exploration drills, prove up and move on.
To stay and doing it ourselves could mean huge capex with revenues from Havieron.
A new processing plant would be required and transport out.
Huge reinstatement costs at the end.

I’m hoping for a joint venture with Newcrest preferably as their exploration arm

Yes it’s max of 2m tons but the transport is another constraining factor.
A crusher unit is needed to remove some of the waste but also when ore is blasted and removed it bulks up , so crushing the ore reduces the bulking factor ie less trucks.
Volvo 3 bed road trains for 2m t pa = 44 road trains per day
A 5 bed road train = 18 per day
The trucking is going to be a big ask !

I’ve just been catching up on their new tech/ methods being trialled :-
Breakthrough 3 Coarse Ore Flotation

Coarse Ore Flotation is an aerated fluidized-bed separator that has demonstrated increased recovery of coarse particles compared to conventional flotation
• Currently installed on Train 3 (T3) of the Concentrator 1 (C1) flotation circuit at Cadia (~9mtpa) recovering gold and copper previously lost to tailings in coarse composite particles (150 µm)
• The T3 installation has delivered higher recoveries at substantially coarser grinds, contributing to record output at Cadia in FY20
• Cadia expansion project extends the T3 Coarse Ore Flotation application to treat the full C1 tailings stream

If this new system is trialled on the Havieron sample ores it would increase the recovery rates of gold and copper, reduce tailings, reduce grinding costs and reduce AISC

Looks like they used a lower average for the grades and specific gravity to get that 8,500 oz/m with 2.7 sg and 0.55g/t
On my calcs I have come up with 11,600 oz/m that’s using 2.75 sg and 0.75g/t

This is to a depth of 1300 and no extensions, so the top and bottom zones should increase significantly

You have to keep an eye on the satellite picture where the 2 shafts are going to be to get some idea where the Decline has got to.
A bit from my post about the vents from a mining colleague:-

But if I had the chance I would put the pilot hole in ahead of the decline xcut to vent and escape raise and then pull the string back to avoid blast or even take it out altogether to pilot the next door raise and again pull back too avoid blast.

I expect they will use the same machine for both holes but different cutter head obviously.
U/g will be grateful for vent asap.
Do the escape raise first put a temp arrangement on that with 30" fan on top to extract whilst the major construction of the 4.5m evasee and fan are installed. That way best ventilation whilst the decline races away. Good vent means good working conditions hence better safety and production.
Once they hole through with the 4.5m vent # they remove the top machine and drop a reinforced concrete lid on top (one they made earlier whilst doing concrete pad)
That way they preserve the temp vent arrangement with the 30" fan on the escape way whilst they construct the big fan installation on top of 4.5m vent shaft.
Not forgetting they will have to remove the plug in a clever way without doing damage to the surface vent installation.
The evasee is a giant 90 degree bend with a diam. of 4.5m. So lift the plug out and drop evasee in with same crane ...and bolt up.
One hour max if prep done right.”

You can see from that he’s expecting the 2 pilot holes to be in place before the Decline gets there to help with the ventilation, with an extract fan temporarily in the escape 1.2m dia escape shaft.
If the Decline and vent shaft get too far in advance this may cause additional issues with the saline water extraction and to the evaporation ponds will have to be advanced as well. The raw cell 1 is not enough

Can I ask why you are disappointed at the speed of the Decline it has only been going for just over a month. The timeline plan is for about 12 months with the vent starting in Dec /Jan for another 6 months.
The way things are at the moment those timelines are being brought forward dramatically.

The 2 biggest items to come out of last night’s presentation:-

This seems to correlate with Cannacord volumes of 11m oz
An incredibly exciting figure but only a start.
What does mean?
It seems a low specific gravity has been used 2.7
(My calculations were based on 2.75)
This creates a 10m ton difference.

It seems they have used a very low conservative average grade of 0.55 grams per ton
(My calculations were based on 0.75 g/t)

Comparing the 2:-
Area 176,000 sq m x1300 depth
My calcs = 15.1 m oz gold
Presentation calcs = 10.95m oz gold

The Presentation average grades are a very low conservative average especially when the Eastern Breccias are a consistent 2g/t and 10% of the tonnage is HGZ @c5g/t, these 2 items do not seem to be included.

These calculations do not include growth zones

Using my calculations would give a value of 11,600 ounces per m

Loads more still to come in my opinion

I think it’s huge especially with Hydro’s info on the Super pit.
They will be using a lower specific gravity as an average maybe slightly lower than my 2.75.
The size for the volumes will of course be lower than mine at this stage and as SD said this will keep on giving.
I’m quite happy with the content.
As far as his presentation skills are concerned I don’t think anyone on here (apart from Magic ) realises how hard it is to get your information over. I know it’s hard.
SD has my full backing, remember he has people breathing down his neck on every word he says.
Gervaise never had this pressure, Sandeep hasn’t got that pressure either.
He will improve as he becomes more relaxed when the content subject becomes more fluent.

That’s 11m oz
It can’t be 800/m that would only be 1m oz

Surely you can work that out

My calculations
Area = 176,000 sq m after deduction for the dyke.
I've split the depth into 2 sections
900m deep for the 650x375 section
300m deep for the 800x500 section
2.75 breccias specific gravity
0.75g/t average breccias grade

Top 900m
900x 176,000 x 2.75x 0.75 divided 31.1=10.665m oz

Bottom 300m
300x 314,255 x 2.75 x 0.75 = 6.25m oz

Total = 16.9m oz
I've worked out the gold recovery rate is about 89% average of the breccias and sulphides
Therefore the quantities are around 15.3m oz.

The 2.75 is conservatively on the low side
the 0.75g/t may increase.

It's all about the average grade but from what I'm seeing 1g/t or less is realistic "

From these calculations I've not taken into account for the High grade zone allowing this to compensate for any waste rock.
I've used 0.75g/t to allow for the shell cut off levels.

Conclusion
@0.75g/t = 15.3m oz (most likely)
@1g/t = 23.5m oz
plus 11m gold equivalent ounces
plus any cobalt gold equivalent maybe 3m oz

These calcs take it down to about 1600m below surface.
If it continues downwards which looks very possible the mine could get to 2300m below surface.
This may be way in the future but it would add a big tonnage to the mine.
I know I said I wouldn't post the figure but getting ridiculed for a bit of fun here goes.
No matter what specific gravity or variation of grades the additional tonnage of concreted breccias would exceed 20m oz without copper, indeed after removal of 15% dilution I'm still up and over 25m oz on top of the earlier calcs which puts up to just below 50m oz without copper.
That’s only if they decide to go down to 2300m

Gold = 1,616,913 oz

June 2021
550x 50 x 230 = 6,325,000m3
400x30x 200 = 2,400,000m3
200x 50 x 200 = 2,000,000m3

5g/t
Gold = 5,862,540 oz

Last Summer I got a lot of flak for being so low valuation but Hannams grades were over 6g/t in theirs which was amended.

The MRE grades were also low 2g/t, it's 3.4m oz valuation included the northern breccias and adjoining breccia to the sulphides.
Now I also calculated 5-7m oz in the adjoining breccias which is clearly a lot of these did not get into the shells of the MRE, so assuming 1m oz of these added to my 1.6m oz = 2.6m oz

MRE 3.4m oz less northern breccias about 2.8m oz then the 2 valuations were fairly close.
My valuation now of 5.86m oz doesn't include the breccias, these grades have increased quite considerably, I used before 1g/t .
If I allow the increased grades to compensate for the loss of volume to the sulphide, I'm going to leave my assessment of the breccias to be 5-7moz.

my assessment for the SE crescent is between 10.86-12.86moz , but there is a but not all these breccias may be included in the MRE shells and only full shells are in included so realistically conservative
6-8m oz indicated in the MRE for the crescent

My thoughts on initial production relate to removing sample ore near the end of the Decline into our best zone of HGZ.

The mining for this seems to be still up in the air at this moment , options include Stoping or Board and Pillar.
Either of these need a structure analysis.
Also relating to costs for removal of this zone is the specific gravity here's my post from this week :-

I'm really keen on finding out what the specific gravity of the HGZ pocket will be.
Higher sg less ore needed to get out for same tonnage.
From this first pocket I'm not expecting a great deal of waste.
It will put less pressure on the transport to Telfer.
That is still something concerning me.

I would guess approx 4.
But it is specific to our mix of minerals. From what we have seen so far I think our ore is very variable over relatively short distances so making any calc or sample only very locally applicable.

I do know I mined quartzite at 2.6 and that was very consistent. Our quartz rich conglomerates (with feldspars) were taken as 2.75.

I think our sulphide zone by the looks of the cores has a very variable and large assemblage of sulphides ..... with silica, feldspars Cs/Mg carbonated and iron minerals.

So the hardest are the qtr and felds and maybe pyrite which are very commonly put through milling (ball and rod mills)
So I dont see milling as a std process as a problem. If the gold is extremely fine and locked up minutely in say the qtr then extra milling beyond the norm might be required to break really fine. This will take extra time and electricity."

That's a difference of $94m a huge sum.
So you can see how important specific gravity becomes as it will decrease the costs considerably with less ore

The sample ores will be containing chalcopyrites one of the main copper bearing ores.
The Telfer train will be set up with the aid of the sample ores from Havieron for the separation of gold/silver and form a copper concentrate.
This copper concentrate will be exported to a smelter/refiner somewhere in SE Asia.
It’s in the processor plant that copper and other base metals will be retrieved including cobalt.
Cobalt extraction is very complex as it associated with so many different ores and minerals. It’s found in chalcopyrites as siegenite and the flotation process to separate these 2 are complex.

Although NCM haven’t mentioned cobalt extraction yet and the sample concentrates are sent to the processors I’m sure credits for cobalt will be coming back reducing the AISC costs considerably.
It’s not something that can be ignored I’ve calculated a rough estimate equivalent of 3m oz gold.
That’s nearly as much as are initial MRE valuation
