I have switched bank accounts several times in the past few years but never even considered Barclays or seen any switch offers from them!

If they aren't interested in high street banking & their investment arm can't make a profit why the hell are they still in the banking business. Surely it's not just all due to Barclaycard?

I agree, the small holders will be desperate to exit with a bit of profit before they kick the bucket. Institutions can take a longer term view.

I do sometimes wonder what WOS (and others) investment timescale is. If it's 5-10 years he may well have a reasonable case. Now - 2027 no chance.
