Yes a lot of the cash flow from operations was sucked up by financing but that was with an average realized oil price of $59.5.
This is why Enquest is an excellent geared play on Brent

I suspect 1 in 12 cars sold last month were hybrid so still run on Petrol ( the Lexus hybrid I drove was giving 29.7 mpg)
New car sales have plummeted which is more of a worry than the EV nonsence.
The whole EV thing is just virtue signaling and a fashion statement.
Some Teslas are over 2 tons most are close to that at 1.8 tons, the heavier a vehicle is the more energy required to move it, fossil fuel or electric it doesn't matter its still wasted energy ( 0-60 in 2.6 seconds will require even more energy, how on earth is that eco ? )

I would say that the shorters have used the downward momentum after the ex divi date and a falling gold price to drive this down to close out a few more shorts.
They do this by selling a few more shares short to start a tumble ( think stop losses and panic selling ) in order to buy even more back and close out positons.

Total stock on loan was down at end August 5.14% from 5.97% end July and 6.5% end June 18

The total stock out on loan was 2.21% at end July and 2.58% end August.
There has been NO big shorting action here as some have spouted. Just a P.I. led panic sell off as I suggested.
There has also been no change of holdings RNS so no significant institutional sell off.

I don't pay too much attention to charts leave that to pros, gamblers and algos.
Those are just historical resistance points from looking at the chart.
I think the most important thing here is Brent if we get $80 $90 or even $100 everything here will be super sweet !

Your right and gaps do like to be filled. On a longer timescale there is a strong gap to 52, a bit longer still 69 and even longer a gap up to 122 !

So I'm guessing that this rather unwarranted fall could be due to golds bounce from 1160 appearing to reverse.
But I can see there is quite a strong gap to fill at 1325 so quite feasibly gold could be back there within a month or so.
Strong Dollar, weak Yuan and trade war hammering sentiment also.

Thats insane. The new CEO of WPP salary is £975k and they have a market cap and turnover of 10 times that of DEB and profits approx 50 times !!
