I think that outfit know what they are doing, They could have shorted just before results and closed by now ( the 1.5 million trade at 33p perhaps ) Or perhaps they are long the bonds and short the stock ?

Very strange movement on CRST this morning dropped over 6% just after open, no news except Brexit deal to be signed all house builders reporting earnings increases and also being heavily shorted.
Unless CRST specific news incoming.. possible short attack.
Any thoughts ?

I think Premier Oil might be a good case study there.
Down a bit then up even higher even with the enlarged number of shares in issue.
We had a number of very convincing doom mongers there who were completely wrong !

Mining the rare earth minerals, Aluminium, 3 times the copper required to make an EV than for an ICE for example.
EVs are heavier than ICE so require more energy to move them, the energy has to be generated transported through the grid, stored in batteries then hauled around as its being used ( with losses all the way ) This power the vast majority of which worldwide is still generated by non renewables mostly still mostly Natural Gas and Coal unfortunately.
Hence EV = more Barrels required than for ICE

Interesting points there. Is there a surplus of these petro chemicals at the moment ? Obviously in the future the world will need more, so would that result in a surplus of Diesel, jet fuel and Gasoline ?

I don't need to imagine, I read somewhere that it currently takes more barrels of oil to manufacture a full EV and run it for 100,000 miles than it does to manufacture an ICE including Petrol required for that 100,000 miles. So at the moment EVs are very good for the Oil and gas industry as they demand more oil.
Don't get me wrong I know the future is coming and it will be a lot more EV ( mostly hybrid I think ) which will help MPG but it won't be enough to stop our reliance on oil hence oil demand will continue until its gone.

When you say electric cars are 4-5 times cheaper are you referring to the electricity vs gasoline price ?
There are a miriad of issues here but I believe the main one is that there are currently 2 billion ICE vehicles already in existence in the world approx 1 billion of these are over 10 years old. The vast populations of developing countries in the world require cheap transport and they run vehicles that are 10 20 30 years old or more. The world would need to replace these cheap vehicles with EV so would need to manufacture around 1 billion EVs to seriously dent demand for oil. The rare earth minerals required for this don't even exist on the planet. Aside from that the carbon footprint of mining then building and running an EV for its life span is higher than equivelent ICE vehicle.
