From what I can tell Phoenix Group Holdings is a different company and nothing to do with Phoenix Asset Management who are buying up DTY stock. Phoenix Asset Management is a fund for high net worth individuals ( minimum investment of £100k) and returns a solid 9% doesn't like risk and the managers invest their own money in the fund.
But there are a couple of posters on this board who think they know this company much better.

We can't all time it perfectly (like you ?) even Goldman Sachs bought their CFDs at a higher price than today.

Back in 2015- 16 there were only 4 months when Brent fell below $40 ( only 2 full months it remained below $40 )

Are you suggesting that production should be shuttered for 2 months at extra cost and a big dent to cash flow just to maintain profit margin ?

I think the shorters can control the SP quite a lot so it could go down while they close out or they let it rise while they increase.
They do say that the Oil price won't rise until Goldman say it can so lets hope today we've had that signal !
If so the move won't come until tonight INMHO
