Cheap labour, low tax, less health and safety. Who knows I was just suggesting a possibility but you seem to know exactly what Chevron are thinking. So why don't you tell us whos going to buy their North Sea assets ?
You've obviously never looked at rival companies share prices on results days then. Look at the house builders, banks or IG, CMC and PLUS500 when one moves on results they all move.
I think the shorters will close before that or at least before we hear anything. Its worth noting that a lot of the hedgefunds don't perform that well. As they are well in profit here they would be wise to make an orderly exit a-la Marshall Wallace. Profit is profit ! Or they could just stick around and wait for another Ocado style short squeeze.
If they were really clever they would be using algos to hoover up cheap stock while the price remained unchanged or even fell wait a minute ..perhaps they already are. The SETS order book can be overwhelmed by anyone with the computing firepower and thease days all the big players have it.
I've just checked and I bought some of thease at 41.87 last year ( Brent was $81 I made a note ).. Are you telling me that I was dreaming.. well thank f for that !
