Bloomberg are showing the 4.30 closing price not futures, the futures close on a Friday at 9pm british time and go on through the night during the week ( not sure if this is your question?

The spread is usually so wide it makes it untradable.

I don't think sipps are any good when you already have retired, why would you want to tie your money up?

Of course you can short some aim shares anyone with a IG account will tell you that, obviously that is in the form of a spreadbet but it can be done with Cfds also.

Share price has done alright recently but still has to put on 25% for directors to break even.

While I think this is a fantastic buy at this price it still seems to driftdown, it concerns me in the short term because it could easily drift lower due to sentiment generally, ( similarly to glen some years ago ) but this could be the bottom and if you wait on the sidelines to long you miss out eventually so I have a buy order at £7 if I miss out my loss.
