RE: A sea of red….5 Aug 2024 11:28
The "good" news is I don't think we will get a lowering of production guidance for 2024, as it has already been stated with the 2023 results back in March that this would be towards the lower end. With the figures given by KOSMOS for Jubilee and TEN we should still just make it I think, as KOSMOS have said "we now expect Jubilee production for the full year to be around 90,000 bopd gross". Also, in 2023 Jubilee averaged 83,400 bopd, so at least this has gone up. Obviously not the 120,000 bopd we were dreaming of :-(
"Change of strategy needed here and not going to happen under current leadership." ..... that's all very well, however what exactly can Rahul do. He has a mountain of debt and aging assets. He can't raise capital for an acquisition, last time he attempted a merger the share price got attacked and doesn't have money to buy new prospects. In fact if he's spent want he'd spent on Ghana on new acreage and just left Jubilee as is and didn't make a major discovery in the new acreage you'd be whining on here that Tullow had gone bust. Maybe he could do better here, but what he can do is very limited ... like it or not.
