Management committed to paying out 50% of attributed profit.

Half year EPS were 30.9, I'm going to say full year EPS with the share buyback will be around 62\63.

I'm expecting full year total dividends, including the interim div of 9.5 to be around 30 pence, at today's share price that equates to a yield of around 5.75% ...

Just my personal thoughts.

Banking stocks down to the UK economy outlook and rising government debt.

Regardless of the reason, Natwest share price closing below £4.80 signals a reversal in trend and the likelihood of further falls, possibly another 10% towards 440\430.

I personally don't believe the Fundamentals have significant changed for the share price fall and with dividends likely to grow, will be looking to add more.

Just my own personal opinion, please DYOR, GLA 😁....

Well done Crystal Palace, nice to see a london based team win some silverware, it's been a while.

I like most on this chat, have held Natwest for a few years and have seen the SP more than double in the last two years.

The question know arises, whether to take profits or keep holding.

With eps\dividends rising and the pe falling, I've decided to keep holding for the nxt two years unless something fundamental changes.

Hope you're also well and have a prosperous week, my other holding doing well especially BP which I picked up in the downturn, holding around 40% cash at present, not sure whether to pick up, some more bp or open a new position.

Regarding acquisition, the Natwest COE (MT) has made it prett clear they will be looking for a major acquisition as soon as the HM stake is diverted.

However, pickings especially in the UK are slim, so won't be surprised if they make a second bid for Satander UK .

Natwest is now among the smallest in relation to the big 4 UK banks, it needs an acquisition and Satander UK would be a good fit, unfortunately Barclays are also interested.

With both having offers rejected, there's a good possibility that a second offer could be in the making and a possible bidding war.

I would also prefer Natwest to walk away, however it's difficult to see where significant future growth can be generated, without an acquisition 🤔 ....

I'm assuming the sp dropping this morning is related to Natwest failed attempt to buy the UK part of Santander.

Natwest may attempt a second bid at a higher price ....

I don't have any better idea if a bid will emerge or at what price.

However, I don't think any of the major shareholders of BP will accept any bid under 500, most of them have purchased their shares above 400 and will only accept a significant premium to their initial stakes.

Just my thoughts, not advice.

The share price hitting the 3.10 resistance level, so many investors taking advantage of an expected reversal in the price, hoping to buy back at a lower price later 😳.

Results were solid and above forcasts ....

BP caught up in a storm of negative, rising debt, failing oil price, boardroom departures, disgruntled shareholders etc.

All of which can be addressed over the nxt 12\18 months.

Bought in last Friday towards the close of business at 30.89, looking to buy again at 3.60, 90 and 4.10.

Should have a break even of 3.70, looking to exit the trade at 4.40\50 unless the sp falls to my previous buy in.

Filled my boots around the £2 mark on this stock, also have Barclays in my portfolio.

So not looking at present to add any more financials, especially as interest rate in my opinion are likely to fall over nxt 12 months, reducing Net Interest Margins.

Looking to rota out if financials and over to energy\commodity stocks, BP in particular as the stock looks washed out but has potential in my unprofessional opinion 🤔....

News is improving but until the oil price does, I don't see the sp doing anything other than moving sideways.

Oh well, the one positive is that it affords me the opportunity to add some more to my holdings...
