You can go right back to 1995 on the Google charts.

Two elements struck me, the SP peaking well before recessions arrived.

And the % decline between 1997-early 2002.

Now from memory, Lloyds did NOT cut their dividend during the 2000/2002 downturn.

And the share price was still decimated in % decline terms.

Apologies if any of this is incorrect - please DYOR- underlined in red.

I'm looking at a very long term Lloyds chart.

Lloyds TSB? appeared to peak at £6.81 in April 1998, reaching a low of approx £2..07 in March 2002.

The share price peaked before the last financial crisis around February 2007 at approx £4.04.

Notice Lloyds tend to peak well before an actual cyclical downturn, as investors begin to anticipate
the economic cycle rolling over.

Looks increasingly like sometime in 2019 IMV.

Need to start considering...how will Lloyds navigate the next cyclical downturn?.

Drivel- from the top of the G7 in GDP growth, to hear recession.

Inward investment plunging.

Lloyds inextricably linked to the UK economy. Is that on topic enough.

This is such poetic justice, and it's only just begun IMV.

They are those that told us the UK would enjoy the same benefits
post Brexit, that our economy would thrive.

Lloyds is highly cyclical.

The time to buy cyclicals is usually in the early-stage cycle recovery.

We look late stage cycle now IMV, next comes recession.

Around £25 Billion is an estimated cost already.

We have not even left.

It's torn the Lloy SP to shreds, we would with see be 85-90 pence a share
without this impending fiasco. Look at the wealth destruction in Lloyds alone.

They have responsibilities to their employees, shareholders and wider supply chain.

As a few people have referenced, the Lloyds SP hardly budged on strong market
days and appears to get hit on any wider equity market weakness.
So it appears a continuation of the recent trend atm.

Need to keep in mind we are just off all time highs for the UKX,
where will the Lloyds SP end up on any market correction?.

As I mentioned recently it may be wise keep some cash on the sidelines
over the next few weeks.

Huge amount of complacency about imv.

The falling Lloyds share price and the UK economy near stall speed. From top of the G7 in GDP growth, to GDP barely growing. Another profit warning from DEB todayou. Well done Leavers.

The UK's much diminished role going forward is nicely reflected by the share price erosion seen in Lloyds. Lloyds current price may indicate the lack faith markets have in UK future prospects, just IMV.

If you think this is a.. crash, in terms of wider markets you are mistaken, it's a blip atm. The SPX is Up from 666, in terms of the % gains from the financial crisis lows, this price action for wider markets does not even register. Posters thinking this is a crash indicates the levels of complacency around currently.

a support level, at least not on any TA view I've seen. 61.80, as I posted before it was sliced through, was the level many were looking at.

Unlikely outside a recession imv. 58 pence, very approx is where I would be looking.

K, there may be a major flaw with that view- It assume the UK will somehow not experience another recession, with rising impairments. The UK or world economy does not exist in some la la land never ending growth cycle. Recession overdue and within 18 months imv.
