Couple of uncharacteristic posts from Knot and Liberty2. But, this has turned into a sit and watch for some time. With regard to portfolio and in the vein of the posts you may or may not care to glance at Ceres. It certainly isn’t a recommendation just a suggestion if you are looking at AI energy requirements. In the meantime I’m looking forward to good results for Close. Don’t know but just thankful for the input of these two guys.

That frustration shouldn’t turn into a tantrum and an evil crescendo.

I strongly disagree! The banks will continue to offer the best rates that they can for savings and lending. The money will keep coming in …. It’s the Arthur Daley type car dealers that will lose out going forward.

Latest Broker Recommendations (2026)

The following major brokers have recently updated their ratings and price targets for Close Brothers:

UBS: Upgraded to Buy from Neutral (27 March 2026) with a price target of 555p.

Shore Capital: Upgraded to Buy (20 March 2026).

Deutsche Bank: Reiterated Buy (23 January 2026) and increased price target to 570p.

RBC Capital Markets: Upgraded to Outperform (16 January 2026) with a price target of 625p.

Keefe, Bruyette & Woods: Maintains Outperform rating, though lowered price target to 580p in late

Sounds good doesn’t it. But opinion varies and I value all.

Hope all have enjoyed a long weekend and we shall see what happens over the coming weeks, months and for those with patience years.

In my last post I did say I was exhausted with the car finance debacle. I don’t intend following it up on a regular basis but that’s just my choice.

I do keep a chunk in cash which is on a one year fixed term and due to be reinvested at the start of the new tax year. I see Close Brothers are offering the best available rates (via HL). Is that confidence or buying business? I think the former. Who knows.

Anyway I think I’m exhausted with this one. It’s been a hell of an experience, going to the Supreme Court was my highlight. The shares can just sit there for now and do as they will.

I am thinking today’s announcement is a good win, but time will tell.

I’m quite excited about management’s comments regarding ‘ The group will update the market as and when appropriate.’

The comment could be a game changer. We will see.

It has been an interesting experience over the last few weeks but I’m not entirely discouraged. The BoD played a good card putting out a solid set of results. I think that stopped a share price collapse today. Just my thoughts but this company seems to have the ducks in a row and has done well to reject a below par offer. I don’t think this one is for a cheeky short term offer. The long game is the goal.

I would love you to be correct and I agree maths is a wonderful thing but…

If you keep dividing from £1 for long enough you end up with 0.5p! I’m probably insane but I do keep adding scraps but I wouldn’t translate that to market confidence!

In the penultimate RNS I read between the lines the domain name would be sold. In the last RNS (again reading between the lines) I saw confirmation of this.

That would leave four sales reps running round the country selling to corner shops. Considering the CEO salary and presumably on less money than that, with pretty little enthusiasm.

I do get the business model of selling vapes to corner shops. I don’t understand, however, why two of the biggest players in the market would trust one company to represent them against each other.

Just my misguided thoughts and no doubt I will be corrected, hopefully 🤞

Really nothing. The BoD will (hopefully) keep doing what they are doing under the radar. The company will keep making money and we just wait ….

FCA water down further. Company announce share buy back or dividend. Possible takeover announcement. Who knows.

After the massive sp swings of the last couple of years not much to be said about marginal daily % movements in sp.

I think the end of the month early next month will light up this board again. Hopefully in a positive way.
