They have built an S-series stack. They have reported that they are using a cracker to generate hydrogen from ammonia for use in fuel cells. Could the running of a S series stack not count as proof of concept? A large system (100 kW ) is due in the second half of this year if they hit deadlines.

As I understand it they can operate as low platinum or no platinum, but the latter scenario had efficiency costs. They have talked about getting rid of platinum completely, but that involved a term equivalent to “expects” so not confirmed.

Yes I am aware they were using carbon nanotubes, and as I said I was surprised when we were told platinum was being used in trace amounts. It would explain why they were keen to recycle catalyst materials during the Kore process.

Yes, that is dated 2015. Before Gibson informed myself and other investors in the AGM. We are talking trace amounts and they were trying to reduce the quantities, but I questioned the use of precious metal presence and I was told platinum was used.

Except they gave up on not using precious metals. They were using trace quantities of platinum according to Jim Gibson at the 2017 or 18 AGM. It is some time since they have referred to previous-metal free catalysts.

The first UK Power Tower is set to be deployed to Keltbray by the end of June, according to the RNS, and at the AGM Bond said the Acciona system would be deployed in June/July. When that happens we will have confirmation that the Power Tower is a complete product.

I think the deployment shows ambition on the development side linked to resourcing that we have not seen before, with the products being more variable for instance with multiple fuels and with air and liquid-cooled systems. You only need to look down the list of posts on LinkedIn to identify the balance between r&d and other aspects of the business.

Which is why we have seen so much investment going into recruitment. The development side of the business is better resourced than has ever been the case before. And led by two very capable individuals in Drs Harvey and Rendall.

I agree with you about the liquid system. The S series is dependent on successful development .

How am I pessimistic m3?

In time yes, but at present they almost have the Power Tower running on hydrogen, and the liquid system, described by them as a legacy system that has not sold other than to Extreme E.

True, I actually see it as a positive despite Bovril’s nonsense. There is a lot of work going on developing a range of products but if it makes people more relaxed to think they are taking on 35 new posts to sell one product they can just put me on filter and carry on with their delusion.
