Too sad that Cine went bankrupt the month when Box Office reached $1.4bn a record…
We were right about the recovery it was only the timing which was an issue.
All the best all
Thanks Hexam for all your posts. It was nice talking to you
Twice as Creed 2 or 1 and we lost everything… and all our friends and family will say I told you cinema is dying
Where do you see institutional investors ? It’s all client account!
I raised this issue months ago and they reported it me. I can see all this details on Bloomberg it’s all for client account
You’re right forest79 looks like lenders made the best deal possible at the right time
“Good luck everyone and remember, there will always be an opportunity to make money elsewhere and again.”
Never buy an individual stock ever! Invest in funds ETFs REITs diversification is the key.
That was a good lesson for me. Unfortunately I lost £20k but that’s life
So when the SP will go to nothing? What will happen next?
Hi everyone,
They said “the deal does not provide for any recovery for holders of Cineworld’s existing equity interests” but when they said they will issue 800m new shares they haven’t mentioned that it will be a separate entity? Is there something I missed?
What the probability that they will throw us under the bus? Large do you think ?
I agree with you RI22 about the good numbers of B.O.
But my point is that on a daily basis B.O. are missing for Wednesday and Thursday for Creed 3 only. You can check on B.O. Mojo. I didn’t say that it performed badly I am just saying that there is something wrong in the dashboard few millions are missing
I just wanted to point out that there is no Box Office data for Creed 3 between Wednesday and Friday. Is there a reason why? Could we chase Box Office mojo group to request an update of the data?
And I don’t understand the point of doing that. I mean saying the shareholders will be wiped out all the time. It has already happened from 325p to 2p… and it could leave the company to 0 if we all sell our holdings so what’s the purpose of saying that?
Sorry to hear Silvesy.
How much have you invested?
Maybe next time try to invest in ETFs mutual funds. Diversification is the key to lower the indiosyncratic risk!
Good luck to you
And if you take into account Christmas and new year there are few days to make money
StanleyPro Avatar 2 has been released the 16th of December leaving only half of the month to make money. Moreover if you take the domestic box office of Avatar 2 it’s the number 8 of all time. The number of movies is very low. I just saw Creed 3 there are lots of people more than last year. Keep faith :)
It was in the first couple of videos of Mr. White that we can see the numbers on a monthly basis.
Hopefully as you said all the renegotiation of the leases will bring the monthly cost way below 2020
Hey Hexam if I remember correctly last year January 2022 Cine had a loss of $110m? (With $385m B.O.) Maybe the cost related to the leases is not the same every month?
Hi Hexam hope you are well. I agree that the most reliable figures to say if Cine is making profit is on Box Office Mojo. I am glad to see that the number of releases has increased this year. However, even last year cinemas like Everyman made some profit and I am sure they will do very well this year. So our only option is to shrink the activity of Cineworld worldwide in order to be profitable even with 80% of 2019 B.O.
When do you think we can see the impact of the abandon leases in the balance sheet ?
I’ll show you why I am still holding… Bloomberg forecasted a domestic Box Office to c. $9bn for 2023. Knowing that c. $1bn have been generated for Jan and Feb 2023. So c. $8bn for the rest of the year which means $800m per month going forward and we said above $775m Cine would be profitable. So lenders, landlords and the judge will see Cine Regal with a different eye. Mooky needs to buy time. It’s my opinion - good luck to everyone
Bloomberg sorry
Do people here have heard of Gunn John William? It’s a UK Global Investment Strategy fund - they bought recently a good position in Cine. Just might be nice to know what sort of bet they are doing ?
