The coordinates for the buoy are N 60.18 / W -3.87 - the AM was at this location for approx 7 hours yesterday so it looked like hook up might have happened - of course it didn't for whatever reason. Recommend watching the video posted below as it really makes you appreciate the complexity of the operation.

Windspeed (under 20 knots) and sea state look favourable for Thursday 24th and Tuesday 29th.

Missdosh posted this on 3 January, video of hook up and very instructive. They hold off hookup until the windspeed is under 20 knots - based on that unless we're going to attempt hook up overnight (which I doubt) I can't see it happening this weekend.

I think HtL and JK have got it - the coordinates are pretty much the same:

We've got AMs position at very close if not nearly over the buoy and the offshore terminal - it's looking very close. Laserdisc / Puffet where are you?

At the risk of being very boring, I have to say the response I got to my friendly and non confrontational post to Keef1 was:

"provable resources could take weeks months or even years to quantify after first oil ...Ps I felt the need to post because of the gibberish and off topic nonsense that plague this chat forum which makes many people on here look like inexperienced muppets"

So two things flagged for me. One, years to quantify sounded inaccurate and a bit derampy. Reading his posting history to see where he might be coming from was interesting because he completely contradicted himself which left me a little suspicious of motivation - cynical, yes, but fair in the circumstances I'd say.

Someone really has to say it:

"Wouldn't want to be out of this over the weekend!"

Again, each to their own. Personally, I've found this BB quite entertaining and endearing and have picked up some very useful info on the way from people with financial and industry experience but not everyone's cup of tea at times when it goes way off topic I guess.
My understanding is approx 22 days from successful hook up to FOIL, then hopefully a few months before reserves are proven but then I don't pretend to have any technical expertise and can only go by what I've read. Was interested to read your previous posts on here though:

"Brokers valuation between 71p and 100p with current known reserves, no reason why this share will not continue to rise daily as the news spreads."

Keef1, each to his own. For some (including me) the risk reward is obviously worth it. Out of interest - when do you consider resources will be proven - at what stage?

Looking at MT myself I can see the last AIS report was over 11 hours ago. So I think we can assume they're all there and getting on with the job and it's wait and see time.
