Yes, appreciate it's your opinion and no malice intended, but truth is none of us actually know what will happen in the next 5 minutes let alone tomorrow!
I think Wessexmario summed it up pretty well there. We have to patient - they're doing their job and have to judge the conditions at sea - I think we can assume they know what they're doing and if there was anything to worry about it we'd know by now!
A few investors have expressed frustration at lack of updates and while I sympathise it's worth noting that issuing 'no news' statements is not going to help us or the share price.
"Yes Puffet calling the shots but he’s being wrong so far."
He hasn't been wrong - he's only reported on what is 'hoped' to happen. Only the guys on the bridge and below dealing with hook up can call it, on the actual day in the actual conditions right in front of them.
"Why is the AO not sitting off Lerwick"
No idea? A guess - maybe they're not being charged for taking shelter in Cromaty and would be in Lerwick?
What Puffet actually said was 'all going well ... could be ..."
19/1/2019 - 13:58 Taking longer than anticipated but still optimistic it will be complete this weekend. 18/1/2019 - 08:20 All going well midday tomorrow could be a landmark for HUR.
Couldn't agree more. Right now the only issue is sea/wind conditions for hookup in January - West of Shetland. Taking any risks in anything but optimal conditions is what they are clearly not doing - which is fine by me.
Snaggletooth - 44p? Pulling a number out of a hat there aren't you? Brent's on the rise so more likely the SP will just continue to rise in line with that as it has been doing - just to play devil's advocate I predict ending this week with 51p!
Not sure who you're referring to, Wulbert was clearly joking and Amaja may have a point about needing longer than 6 hours to hook up. Most posts have been constructive but clearly you're a bit frustrated.
At least for my part I didn't think contraction was a problem, just curious to know what allowance was made for it. Again, please forgive my ignorance - no theory intended!
SG2, yes, the video has made me appreciate why the right conditions are worth waiting for! Hopefully the 24th or 29th will provide enough of a window to make a steady go of it.
Thanks for going into more detail, and Nigwit for your post. Not concerned at all, have complete faith in this project and the lengths they've gone to. I asked more out of curiousity as have not an ounce of engineering background myself - but find it all fascinating nonetheless and useful to learn while I have the chance to!
As someone also invested here, and new to this industry am also interested in the 'contraction' question, might be a daft question, might not - I wouldn't know but a fair answer would be helpful.
DiveCentre Thanks, makes sense, I'm afraid FPSO fit outs are not my area of expertise but am genuinely interesting in understanding how it all comes together to better understand the risks involved.
Thanks for reposting these Sipp, didn't see them first time round. They show the sheer scale of the build here - the turret and the buoy. Impressive stuff.
