Yes agree, guidance always H1 and 'incompetence' not a word I would consider fair not being on site and seeing firsthand the challenges faced.
Obviously also not in the industry myself but as you say, as with most projects of this scale allowance has to be made for the unexpected.
More importantly, feel the squid/seahorse/puffin etc joke will form in good time ... bit of a challenge though.
Feeling slightly more normal but par for the course this time of year!

Right, so I can't actually string a sentence together but you get the gist? No? Also looked up Niort and realised you reside close to various places I hitchhiked through in my youth. I do love France and over the last 20 years have spent a great deal of time around the Massif Central region. Latterly in my youth having hitched with two friends (one headed to a Yacht in Marseille while escaping a term at Sandhurst) I found myself in La Flotte on the Ile de Ré and what an odd experience that was - flat landscape, not a soul in sight anywhere ... left an impression though, of a place temporarily deserted, quite eerie and at the same time wondeful!

Lovely points, also have to confess (O/T apologies) have been dipping in and out of Google on 'squid, seahorse, puffin jokes' every now and again in between inhaling Olbas Oil and collapsing and am looking forward to Joe Soap's 2nd rendition of 'Twas the night before' shortly.

Sharing thoughts on delays, I know it's been a frustrating time for everyone but give it a relatively short time in the scheme of things and we'll be waxing lyrical before we know it - probably appallingly so. In the meantime given the lack of activity - the SP has actually held reasonably well and allowed me to make two minor top ups I didn't think I'd be able to make at this point. Onwards and directionally challenged ...

Agree - and from a time management point of view - it would save their IR department a lot of time if they just tweeted the odd update every now and then.

I didn't realise he'd contacted IR directly, as you also have. 'Imminent' though does just confirm the previous RNS that they expected the replacement by month's end.

There's been no RNS issued - no update on Twitter/website - where are you getting the rope update info from?

Also wondering if Balltec who supply the moorlok subsea mooring connectors - would be involved in supply of required rope?? Guessing in the dark here ... But equally noted:

"Balltec designed and manufactured the connectors specifically for this project. The firm’s technicians were offshore during July to oversee the installation of the connectors by SBM under subcontract to TechnipFMC."

So out of interest (obviously not quite kicking back until July) - Is it TechnipFMC who would be responsible for supplying the rope or Bluewater? Referenced this old article which mentions the integrated Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (iEPCI) project and note:

"In addition, TechnipFMC will also install the subsea equipment, turret buoy and mooring system."

Having almost recovered from the most unpleasant round of flu I have yet experienced, I have to say it's been really very relaxing not stressing about the when's where's and how's for a few weeks.

What I would find really useful, I now realise, is some kind of notification alert thing that jumps straight to my inbox to tell me when the SP hits my strategic targets - 100%, 200% rise and so on. I'm now of a mind to do what most sensible people seem to be doing and kick back until July when the whole picture will no doubt appear a great deal rosier.

Ginger tea actively prevents nausea - PG doesn't. Ginger with honey and lemon also soothes a sore throat.
Loss of appetite means taste buds have become very picky and a sweet hot cup of PG is simply no longer appealing!

I know very, very little and that much has been gleaned from reading and research prompted by the posts of those who do have first hand experience.

This seems to be the crux of the matter - for what reason? Which question I'd really be interested to hear from our resident experts: Going with the simplest possibilities first:
1) is it possible that the tidal currents were such (on the rise) that conditions were simply not optimal
2) is it possible that FPSO's DPS isn't sufficient to provide stability at the crucial latch on juncture and she does in fact require more assistance in the conditions prevailing WoS?
Those are the first two.

Thanks for that, it's good to hear your confidence from first hand knowledge of the team.

Meantime it is, believe it or not, genuinely fascinating to understand what they are dealing with and I'd rather have facts than speculation.
