Where, oh where LSE mods is the edit button? "Ultimately, ultimately ... is what I meant to type. Having been constricted to a tiny ridiculous Apple keyboard all week, am finally let loose on a free full sized PC keyboard ... and here is the result - no end of ways to torture a human being. Where are you AI? Where are you? Blossom is out and I want to walk past and inhale ... !!!!
Have felt for a while that Hurricane need and want to prove this play on GWA and Lancaster before moving forward. Hence some apprehension about Spirit taking on the license ultimatel for GWA.
To JayKay1, Bloobird and Divecentre, thanks, appreciate your feedback. Suddenly feeling a bit out of my depth but holding nonetheless according to the fundamentals at play:}
Bloobird I tried to raise this point through the Energy Voice article yesterday but had no response. I would like to understand what the inherent value to the shareholder is in this approach. If Spirit have 50% of the winnings from GWA and ultimately the license then where does this leave us? Should we, in fact, be buying shares in Centrica!?
Thanks for posting LadySonia. I have a question re. this article: "At the development stage, Spirit would take over as licence operator." - What does that mean for shareholders of Hurricane? Do we profit from that? (may be a stupid question but clarification appreciated).
Excerpt of key points from article below (as per LadySonia's post at 11:18 today)
"When the GWA deal was announced in September, the partners intended to drill an appraisal well on Lincoln and two exploration wells on the adjacent Warwick prospect, with Spirit covering 100% of the cost.
If successful, one of the initial wells will be tied back to the Aoka Mizu floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which is also being used for Hurricane’s wholly-owned Lancaster development, and was moored at the field last month.
A further three appraisal wells and a full field development of the GWA could follow.
Spirit would cover half of Hurricane’s costs for the tie-in of the well to the FPSO and pay a bonus of between £115m-£190m towards Hurricane’s costs of the full field development.
At the development stage, Spirit would take over as licence operator.
Drilling was initially expected to begin in the first quarter of 2019, but the campaign was set back by a few weeks because EnQuest hadn’t finished with the Transocean Leader rig."
Biffadog Thanks that's helpful. The point I was trying to make, albeit in a rushed and poorly worded way, was the catalyst for the SP is, in the end, going to be proven data results on both Lancaster and GWA. It would be nice if FOIL gave us a push but now I feel institutional investors are waiting for these respective results and until then volatility most likely will continue.
If EPS means proving data, then agree with Bloobird - at the very least 2-3months - could be twice that if they want to align GWA data at the same time and so also note and agree with Extrader's post. Not expecting a significant shift in the SP until a good few months down the line. Happy, indeed very happy to proved completely wrong.
On that note ... anyone following Masterchef? Is that just too cheeky an off topic throw in? What with the 'B' word no one shall mention on here and the drama with hook up, personally need a little light relief until we see the SP rise to £1 ... which, hopefully, by September I'd say, we will!
Unfortunately not just processed or freshly cooked with a little sprinkled in Chinese food. It's quite astonishingly in almost every packaged seasoning mix and processed food out there ... no matter how 'high end'. Nasty stuff actually and to be avoided where possible - but IMO and DYOR:}
Fortunately since you sound like a pretty accomplished cook I don't expect you're in imminent danger ... but if you find yourself eating something processed and can't stop ... look no further.
What a relief! Congrats everyone and thanks for the distraction and info while we were hit the doldrums. Congrats also to all involved in the hook up and wishing the crew a few days of calm to get settled in and all systems go for FOIL.
It seems and I know this to be true because the taxi driver and Google (solid sources:}) both told me so. Sounds like Ne'er cast a clout - may is out - may be a reference to Hawthorn blossom. Personally, as a rule of thumb and having misinterpreted this since I was a child - it always feels to me as though May is the sensible time to let go of winter clothing - any sooner and I'd be freezing. Not remotely as hardy as your fellow Glaswegians (assuming you are, indeed, Glaswegian - what do I know?) I'm afraid. We're very spoilt down here in the sense that we are really, lots of sunshine and relatively warm. Possible one for April - When the rope and buoy do meet, then oh shall life be sweet!
Wulbert N'er cast a clout till 'the' May is out ... interesting, of course given our rather temperate climate of late we have blossom out down here (in Kent) already. Wonder what the saying is for April ..
JoeBass I feel Bluewater and perhaps Hurricane owe you several free drinks at the next AGM ... inspiring aspirational prayer, may it be realised and soon!
