BRICS nations are also looking to get rid of dependancy on the $, quite rightly, gives too much power to the USA.

1. The Chinese should buy ZIOC to help their steel industry and screw the Aussies
2. The Saudi's should buy ZIOC because it is pennies for them
3. The Americans should buy ZIOC to show they have the biggest reserves and everyone needs them, stop the steal!
4. The Aussies should buy ZIOC to stop anyone else from getting it to protect their cr ap ore.

It could have been a buy, having taken a couple of days to execute.

"Given Glens previous bribary issues in Africa I think they want to avoid any accusations in future. Inserting Zioc into the driving seat whilst still still retaining a share in the profits is a win win. "
Arms length...plausible deniability etc. etc.
As you say win win.
It's coming.

To my mind, Glen know what is going to transpire.
Lining up the deal in a way that suits their needs.

Just as an aside, and to MinorMiners point about that money spent on proving up the asset, it is a big deal!
Many early stage mining companies have to raise a fortune, diluting shareholders raising finance, to get to the stage of a BFS, so to already have that BFS means it is pretty much 'ready to go' in terms of investment.
There will be no need to dilute shareholders to prove up the asset to get it investment ready, it already is.
LTH's already know all this, but for any newbies, it is an important point.
Aberdeenman
Totally agree MinorMiner.
But this has not had that value reflected, nor do I think it will until a clear path to realising the asset is at least visible.
So there will always be a risk reduction on the SP, until then.
Once there is a path to realisation of the asset, the gloves are off and the value you mention and a whole lot more will be reflected in the SP.
48p of value is in the intellectual property of the company, not to mention the reserves at a huge discount, so if, no WHEN, an announcement is made, this will be in the £'s not pence.
As always getting in earlier gives many more multiples of the eventual profit.

There is little doubt in my mind that this is coming to fruition, at long last!!
Nice steady rise to between 20 & 40p is on the cards. Sentiment is hugely positive.
That 20-40p is still chicken feed compared to the potential here.

FMG are attempting to use high grade ore to 'mix' with lower grade Aussie ore in order to try 'save' Australia's largest export.
The thing with mixing is that it needs high-grade ore to work, the lower the grade of normal ore, you either have to mix very high-grade ore or increased quantities of better-grade ore to achieve that 60% plus. it means ZIOC's ore body is super super premuim from every angle.

Allthatguff said "Zanaga is an odd choice for a fund"
I agree, but funds are staffed by analysts, whose job it is to sniff out opportunities and be experts in their area, they also cosy up to decision makers and as high as they can get to in companies, family offices and state wealth funds. ZIOC is indeed a strange choice, unless they know some rumours or facts.
In addition, this will be on the radar of other analysts given the rise, I am sure some read these posts to see if retail has found anything out, their interest will now be piqued with a fund quietly investing.
I think the rise is just starting.

""All this leads me to believe that Glencore will with agreement of KE(and perhaps also JH+ a few others)will acquire the outstanding shares, at a “fair price”(probably with Glencore shares held in treasury), when the time is right."
I am with Mitch on this, I personally think Glen are not wanting to be directly involved, which I think is partly due to who will be ultimately in bed with ZIOC. They have shareholders to keep happy, it is one thing processing ore, another being financially and legally tied into a deal, where there could be any chance of allegations of bribery, given the enormous sums they recently paid.
Not much goes completely above board in Africa....
I think Glen wants this at arms length

Echo the others Matt, great find.
All pointing to a Middle East deal.
The brakes should come off this now, looks like those in the know are position-building.

yawn.
I have been invested here for at least 6 years, if you think I am selling out for a few pence rise you are not very bright.
Aberdeenman
Couldn't agree more MinorMiner.
Bar any of the large holders selling, which is extremely unlikely, this is heading to somewhere between 20-40p initially.
And even from 40p there is potential for large profits to be made.
The earlier you are in the higher the multiples of your profits.

Another thing that was in the November 'Glencore shares' RNS. they gave more money via a loan to Jumelles, and subsequently ZIOC, with a repayment day of 31st December 2023.
I know things can slip, but I suspect they know that everything will be wrapped up by then. Which means that we are getting to the time when things need to be formalised and announced to work for a end of year deadline.
I know it is small change to Glencore so extending will not be an issue, but I suspect the whole thing has been sorted already, hence 'relinquishing' their shares.
Strap in folks this could be a hell of a ride.

Like many companies, this is not about profit, for the moment, it is about growth.
If they can push the growth curve further then the value is higher.
Profits will come, and funding is certainly something that needs cleared up, but for now growth in sales is key.

Don't forget the dividend possibility, that alone could be multiples of any investment here, every year, the gift that keeps on giving.
