Hedges must be being done at above 80 now

Just thinking about today’s drop in share price . We know BASF want to get out of the business and HBR management seem keen on share buybacks . Wouldn’t it make sense to come to an agreement whereby the shares are bought direct from them rather than doing buybacks through the open market ? We don’t really want to go through this sort of thing again.

Apologies if this is a stupid question but shares are still being sold to Joe Bloggs above the price they want to achieve , how is that possible ? I would have thought they just sell up all shares that reach the price they want until they are all sold. Also do we get an RNS when they have concluded the sale?

Help me get my head around this. So someone wants to sell 60 million shares and wants the money quick so rather than drip feeding into the market they say they want 2.55 or what ever it was. That way the share price instantly drops and they sell all shares quickly at that price? Am I correct .? How long before all shares will be sold?

Is this good or bad news for private investor’s ? I’m guessing it will put pressure on the share price until they are all bought ?

Great for the bottom line and great for negotiating new hedges which they are actively trying to do.

Big players doing a great job of keeping the price down but I still expect this to finish the day around 310

Can’t see any thing apart from HBR flying today. I believe many had a target of £3 and if they can grab them shares and keep it around that value a lot will be happy. I personally believe we will be around 310 by close today and who knows where by Friday. Definitely a time to hold your nerve and shares.

Under NO circumstances is oil returning to 70 in the next 4 months at least .

I think you are right about that. In the past few months I have sold all other shares and now only hold HBR. A steady price around 90 would be great and hopefully that can be achieved in a few months time. Undoubtedly this could go pear shaped for world markets but that’s what happens when you have a lunatic dictator as president of the US. My hope is that we can get some hedges done around that price . I still think HBR is well undervalued and am optimistic we will breeze through £3 this week .

Well when the nukes start the last thing to worry about is HBR going down to 20p

We all know this share is subject to big swings either way but my thinking is would you really want to be out over the weekend . With that in mind I’m expecting a strong last couple of hours this afternoon. ( I have been wrong before but seldom admit to it ) 😀

I guess its to do with the share price. They have various options of what to do with cash , buybacks pay down debt, invest in other ventures or bigger dividends. Presumably the board has decided that buybacks offer the least value to the company right now.

I didn’t see anything about more buy backs, is that right?
