Not sure if I'm reading this wrong, but surely in his mortally wounded state, Darby's powers are very limited and he will hardly be able to farrt without the BoD's consent.
Now these guys are remaining behind and will be looking to secure their positions so I wouldn't have thought they would want to give Darby free range in his last days in charge.
