two days to go to hopefully a set of very exciting results. I see the talk is of a doubling of the share buy back they did last year. Bearing in mind that it didn't achieve its objective of increasing shareholder value, quite the reverse in fact, I would much rather see a special dividend and have the freedom to do with it as I wish.

Coming on the back of the obscene payoff to Darby, this will stick in the craw of long suffering shareholders who might be tempted to wonder why shares are still being set aside for long term share awards when previous ones issued weren't earned.
I speak as a recent shareholder who sold up to buy ITV shares and glad I did so far, although would not rule out returning at the right price. GLA

As regards a placing, it's very unlikely that shares would be offered via a rights issue, if indeed there would be any investor appetite for this.
By the same token, for an institutional investor to come on board, they would want some comfort that it will be worth it in terms of future growth/profits. Bear in mind the last placing at 57p compared with current SP of 14 ie 25% of that.
On current levels of sales, there is no profit to be had and whilst money raised would presumably go towards infrastructure (hopefully) rather than into a black hole, we still need a sea change in the so called levels of demand from both big power and industrial customers.
Hopefully over the next month or so we will see a steady increase in gas uptake.

I've never had a one night share stand. The shortest I've held a share is for approx 1 month and most of the ones I currently hold have been held for several years. Probably where I'm going wrong. Just don't know when to say goodbye.

You kidding? No riches to be made there. 5.5 billion shares and rising and fetching up 2 tankers of oil a day. The ramping on there makes VOG board look like a pessimists' convention. Won't be long before the next piece of bad news.

A bad day today but the whole market was in the doldrums, or at least all of my portfolio was. In fairness it has been yoyo-ing of late but starting an upward trend so as a recent returner to ITV I'm not concerned as in for the long haul. Sick of losing money on AIM so trying to rebalance portfolio.
