I lost a potload at the height of the lockdown but have recovered two thirds of it by buying loads of ITV, LLOY, HFD, CCL and PFD at the bottom and selling SAR on the recent spike.

Fair point anon. I recall in the early days of production that Foo said our gas was being sold at a 30% discount to heavy oil but since then the price of oil has collapsed. Whereas in the west we are very conscious about the pollution question, many in Africa are happy to use cheaper, dirty alternatives to our gas. But it's clear now that VOG is only ever going to do well in Cameroon through big power and the catch 22 is that we won't get big power without funding as we are broke.
So sparrow makes a good point that some form of takeover or merger looks more and more likely.
Whether we mugs at the bottom of the pile ever benefit is another matter.

But bearing in mind your earlier comment, is this merely your personal take on the future for VOG or are you aware of something concrete. I presume I won't get an answer to the second part but if it transpired and created any sort of reasonable spike, you won't see me for dust.

Fleccy - I think the point he is making is that most of us read the RNS then come onto LSE to read comments about the results. We don't really need a case of "not seeing the wood for the trees"

I disagree with you in this instance. This share is very cheap, even after recent rises I topped up a while ago at around 58p to bring my average down to 86p. I would have bought many more at that price but didn't have funds available at the time so my holding is still quite modest. I do believe that as we start to come out the other side, shares like ITV will grow quite quickly to a higher level and there is s strong possibility that at some point in the next 12 months, we will see a host of special divs from boards eager to reward shareholders' patience . For investors as opposed to traders, this is still a great time to buy for the long term, with the caveat of possible retraces in the short term. AIMHO

TBH Jed, I'm gradually trying to rebalance my portfolio away from riskier AIM shares, some of which have been disastrous for me including VOG & BMR. Bought back into this for the long term growth and divvy potential but if the price is right, a TO will do fine for me. Lol

Don't like the sound of a virtual AGM. Sounds to me like making excuses in advance for ducking out of some very searching questions and pressure from irate shareholders. That is over 2 months away and lockdown should gave eased somewhat by then subject to social distancing. Its not as if we would fill a stadium. Most of the people at the agm are lackeys anyway so cut their numbers down.

Also on that, does the monthly amount they are paying cover both arrears and take of pay. Turnover of total $5 million for last quarter suggests not. Haven't crunched the numbers but would have thought this just covered paymfrom industrials.

On the take or pay arrangements, they are in the pay part but if they get back up to date with payments, will we then have to provide them with the gas they are "paying for" in addition to any future normal supplies?
