Hope you are right, but remember the Nissin stake is a ''blocking Stake''. They may however, feel it is better to continue working with PF on Batchelors and add further value to the brand, in that case they may increase to 29.9% and that would put to bed any 3rd party takeover attempts.

Do they not need to top upto 9% by June? or do they already have that much?

Disagree with the post today which suggested a SP of 41- 44p for a length of time. Quite simply because the state of the company has improved and whilst we may not see strong growth, there is a case to suggest profit warnings at PF are a thing of the past. The company is in a better state than it was last year when the SP hit 57p.

If this did go through and the �200 million was used to pay down debt, would Mc Cormick be interested in buying the rest of the company? I have always said PF was likely to be taken over by a private equity outfit who would have sold bits off in due course. That is exactly what we may see if this story is true. If Mc Cormick had got PF last year, would they have sold off Batchelors?

and understand the anger and frustration, I'm sitting on a loss and need over 50p to break even, have held for nearly 8 years!!! I'm as ****** off with Darby as anyone else, but feel he is in a job because he is going along with Nissin and Oasis and they agree with his plan. There is still no reason why the SP cannot rise to 60p from Tuesday onwards, if Nissin and Oasis feel this is the last time to get shares on the cheap, they will top up. Remember, Oasis can buy upto 15% of the company and if Nissin top up to 29.9% the SP will be easily over 65p.

Agree someone is "messing about with this share", no large buys, but also no large sells either. Certainly not being driven lower to fill buy orders. Perhaps a bounce on Monday?

To be honest, I hope I'm wrong, but the only way to get the SP moving above the price Nissin paid for their stake will be for Nissin to top upto 29.9%. Yes I can see the SP at 60p ish on a good Christmas and also the Hovis situation. The problem is even with a good Xmas and we have had a few, the problem has been after and this has been due to the products needing a re-vamp and new products have been needed, even the timing of Easter has had an impact. In the past we have not had a Nissin deal or Mondalez we do now. There will be ''slack'' after Christmas which has historically knocked the SP, 2017 may be different.

They will not be regretting it!!! They bought at 62p and saw it hit 57p on speculation things were improving, all they need is to get sales up and it will hit 62p. From there, it is all about debt reduction, remember higher interest rates will help.

Shows Nissin are interested in expansion, but what we would like to hear is an interest in acquisitions, there is a subtle difference between the two!!! However, does not mean to say Oasis will not find a PF product that they can work on and find new markets for the product.

As for what you say about Oasis, how do you know about their relationship with GD, who told you anything, why would anybody inform you, why should anyone inform you? Oasis are known as ''active investors'' they buy into companies and have a ''focus'' at present they are not ''homing in on any particular product'' That may soon change, as may their stake in PF, it could rise to as much as 15%.

Hope you are right. There name was mentioned before the Gores deal, so if they were interested, why did they not buy then? However, it could still happen because if they had bought then what would they have done with Hovis? To begin with, pretty much what Gores and PF have done, so it may still be more ''efficient'' to step in now. In other words, Gores and PF are cheaper at making the progress made than Bimbo. Moreover, we may soon also see Oasis taking an active role, they are ''inactive active investors''

I'm beginning to get worried that the mince pies may not be being sold like last year. With just over a week to go to Christmas, surely there must be some idea as to how sales in PF are going and also in the sector as a whole. There is a trading update on January the?

I agree this is due for a re-rate on the basis of it's current position ie the SP does not reflect the current health of the company. Wishful thinking gets you nowhere, but it is reasonable to suggest 50p is achievable by January, from there there is plenty that can boost the SP. 1. More Nissin products 2.
