Next week of the Mc Cormick bid and the shares trade 50% below the offer price. This is horrific!!! The only consolation is, it could be worse, Mothercare rejected a �3 a share bid in 2014, ''saying it undervalued the company and its growth prospects'' where have we heard that one before? Today shares in Mothercare are 18p!!!

Good Post. Although I feel the current SP has already factored in the complete removal of the dividend. I will only buy at sub rights issue price. I feel the new shares are likely to be 50p each, so I will buy when they fall below this.

Takeovers only happen when the current SP undervalues the company. This current SP overvalues the company. Firstly, the company needs to increase sales, then a rights issue to cut debt.

what makes it worse is the SP is not being driven lower to fill buy orders, unless we see volume. So Oasis are not building upto 10%.

It really is shocking that the SP has not recovered, although 6 months after the rejection it did hit 57p. Any further stakebuilding by Nissin after this would have taken the SP beyond 65p. However that is now history and the worrying thing is other companies have in the past rejected takeovers and boy have they regretted it. In 21014 Mothercare rejected a �3 per share takeover, today their SP is 30p!!!

Difficult to see which way it will go. If we get any further profit warnings, we could see Convents breached. What will this do to the SP? But from there the SP may recover following refinancing. But may drop again on speculation of a rights issue. What is for certain, there will be a Rights Issue and the SP will drop below the issue price before recovering.
