Utilico Insights - Jacqueline Broers assesses why Vietnam could be the darling of Asia for investors. Watch the full video here.
I agree, I’m guessing with a spread rate of $300k the costs will quickly mount!
Well could safely be suspended by using packers or cement plugs, or once the section is complete and the hole is cased and cemented. Allow a few days to safely suspend the well with packers/cement.
The HPWH fits inside the LPWH
Tiburn,
2 well heads per well. 1x LPWH (low pressure wellhead) and 1 x HPWH ( high pressure wellhead). There will also be a back-up for each.
I believe Baker Hughes are providing the wellheads, not sure about any other services though I think the majority will becoming from Halliburton.
That’s the Icemax moving, this is it surely ??????
I don’t see it that way, I wouldn’t want to give the environmentalists any amo! Just keep quiet and get on with the job in hand!
(Reuters) - Barclays kept its "above consensus" 2021 oil price forecasts on Monday, predicting Brent at $53 a barrel based on output discipline by OPEC and its allies, and based on a potential COVID-19 vaccine boosting demand in the second half.
In conjunction with Biden taking up office in January and his possible limits on fracking, this is all shaping up nicely!
Just need the environmentalists to get on with their sabre rattling which will then hopefully blow over very quickly!

Not too sure were you get 10-15 days from. I’m aware those figures have been banded about before. Robbla posted a link last Thursday (1229 hrs) to the Environmental Impact Assessment, this will be as close as we get to seeing the drilling programme. I would recommend people familiarise themselves with this document, there is a lot of information in it.
I haven’t had time to fully read it yet but I doubt they will be entering the reservoir sections until they start drilling the 6” hole section. This will start from day 32 (I’m guessing these are P50 times). The 6” section is down for 7 days. I doubt BPC will be reporting any results before the 29th of January.

JRK/Rossannan: I agree with Star, the presence of Rainbow Warrior could be entirely coincidental, but if not it will bring good PR to both.
Oil companies are well versed for dealing with Environmental Activists.
Here’s hoping they’re just looking for some winter sun!
Robbla , the RNS dated 26/05/20 states 30/45 days which is what I would expect an exploration well being drilled with a dual Derrick drillship to take. Maybe 45/60 days has crept in to other RNS’s that I haven’t seen.
The original drilling schedule was 30 / 45 days, today 45 / 60 days has been quoted.
What has been added to the programme is what I’d like to know? Possible planned sidetrack?

I would have thought my point is obvious, bpc, or any operator for that fact will not spend weeks fishing a stuck wireline toolstring in a ss well given the costs involved. It’s simple economics. The days of LIH charges for lost wireline toolstrings/BHA’s amounting to millions is long gone.
I’m not actually sure what your point is other than scaremongering about the costs involved in fishing/losing a wireline toolstring.
I know how to fish stuck wireline tool strings, and any BHA or completion for that matter. As long as the operator can demonstrate they’ve made a “best endeavour” to recover the toolstring it can be left. If a sidetrack was required a KOP would be set at an appropriate depth. If the toolstring was stuck close to the casing shoe a whipstock could be set inside the casing to perform the sidetrack.
To summarise, for your benefit
1. Operators are not required to fish wireline toolstrings, just demonstrate “best endeavours” to make a recovery
2. Wireline tool strings will not cost, I quote yourself “millions”
3. No operator would spend weeks fishing in an exploration well, regardless what is stuck.
Should you have any further questions or require any further clarification please do not hesitate to ask!
Ha ha , you’re brilliant.
I think you know from your limited knowledge you have to make “best endeavours” to recover radioactive sources. That is down to interpretation and amounts to a day or two at best. It’s easy to argue that a wireline tool string is unrecoverable in OH.
I’m happy to discuss this all night if you wish!!!!!!!
I very much doubt that there would be a long protracted fishing job to recover a wireline tool string in any exploration well let alone P-1. Pull the week link, run in and set a cement plug on top and that would be it!
Thank you, I’ll get signed up in anticipation of the pending white knuckle ride!
Good morning Starchild
On the 28/9 you recommended subscribing to lse 2nd level console @ £24/month. Is it straight forward to see when MM’s shake the tree? In the coming weeks/ months I think that information could be invaluable. Thanks in advance!
Hi Vmax, it’s Baker Hughes (GE)
Jimthknow, That’s exactly what struck me when I recently saw the revamped bpc website. I suspect there will be more to this relationship with Stena than just the hire of a drill ship for 1 well..
