There's a lot of savings that could be made which would benefit the bottom line and shareholder equity. Three listings along with the associated admin that goes with it, top heavy at management level which has tuned into a bit of a gravy train.

it needs a careful balance between the 'global' vision and shareholders equity value.

Agreed, would this appointment prevent share purchases by other members of the board, possible?

Interesting appointment to the board, are General Atlantic Singapore helping to get things moving at a corporate levels, well qualified to do so.

increased their holding again last week, from 42,174,826 to 43,689,911 now over 5%.

Given that Friday's volume on HK was only 1.16m shares this is quite an increase.

Obviously good news in the short term as prices are starting to fall as we move into summer, long term I think they could continue to decline primarily driven by the move to alternative milks such as almond and rice.

Bellevue Healthcare Trust is a company that popped up my radar as they have been buying HCM stock. Reading the April update it makes interesting commentary as does their performance graph, clearly this isn't restricted to HCM or indeed companies associated with China.

Comment on FDA too:

Well worth a read, gives a much wider view of the market and these guys are professional in this sector.

Jatw, cheers for the tip, one thing I have been looking at is how the board may release value for share holders.

Selling off assets is one way but SHPL is so well placed and an interareal part of HUTCHMED's, selling it outright would be a shame imo but an IPO could help address both aspects.

It would help break out some of the stored value but also retain part ownership along with their existing partner, bit ambitious perhaps but could they lean towards a JD Health type operation?

Its not all plain sailing for short sellers, many that are shorting UK stocks are getting fried at the moment with so many bids coming in ironically from the US, Ted Baker being the latest example.

The stock has to be bought back at some stage which Warren Buffet aptly named 'guaranteed future buyers'

Most operate on momentum ignoring the fundamentals or may not even be aware of them to begin with, measures that can help:

- Ask major holders to stop lending out shares

- Directors and management buy stock in the market reducing free float increasing market confidence

- Major holders to do the same.

On the 10th march JPM reduced their holding by over 3.5%, this report was issued on the 14th March

Presumably is HCM came off the NASDAQ it would lose that tension between US and China which plays on valuations and short side.
