last time we had this sort of volume on the London market, price was over 600p in Aug 21, less than a year ago!

Its barely 12 months since the fund raising which had an extension due to high demand, lol market is so nuts at times lol

Crazy, arguably their stake in Shanghai Hutchison Pharmaceuticals is worth more than the market cap, an asset that is super desirable and well sought after, wouldn't surprise me if a bid comes in for the whole shebang!

Lets see what HK makes of this..

Just doing some basic research on the new appointment, one of Mr Lefei Sun's directorships is with Hong Kong Asia Medical Holding Limited.

These guys have recently attracted capital investment from some notable industry players including Sequoia Capital:

There's no doubt he is extremely well connected in all things healthcare, obvious choice to get things moving at Hutchmed.

There's often comments that suggest retail investors have no impact but I suspect this is untrue when your closing out such small percentages on low volume every sale counts.

This would also explain the type of algo's being used aimed at poor old retail investors.

Subject to me getting the percentage points in the right place, Voleon's reported drop in actual shares is 122,120 0r 0.01% as reported on short tracker.

When this is set against a background of reported stock on loan as below, you can see the enormity of actually closing without causing a price spike.

The reported reduction for Voleon of just 0.01% versus the strong price rise suggests they are struggling to close, volume is just not there on the sell side.

In addition, Voleon are probably competing with other sub 0.5% (below reported threshold ) shorts exiting at the same time.

The stock bought by M & G last week came mostly from short sellers in HK, it will be interesting to see how this unfolds given how illiquid this is v the amount of stock sold short.

Will JPM buy the shares back they sold now they have changed stance ?

From memory THG were around the 264 mark, now 212 surpassing Asos in market cap.

Premium listing can't come soon enough.
