Week ahead: Brexit, US non-farm payrolls in focus

(Sharecast News) - Investors returning from the Bank holiday will have their work cut out for them.




Brexit will be top of the list with what some observers expect to be a make or break week lying ahead of them.

Several top Bank of England officials are also scheduled to take the podium throughout the week.

That will be followed on Friday by the latest US non-farm payrolls report, covering the month of August, which is expected to show that the US economy recovered 1.55m new jobs during the month, which would be a tad less than the 1.763m registered in July.

Thursday may also be quite informative, with a raft of services sector Purchasing Managers Indices from across the world due for release, also for the month of August.

Further afield, the Caixin private sector-compiled factory sector PMI for China is due out on Tuesday, with a comparable survey for services due out the day before.

It will come alongside the latest monetary policy decision Down Under.
