Week ahead: Brexit and RBS in focus

(Sharecast News) - The spotlight over the coming week is expected to continue to be firmly on Brexit, with the government expected to pursue a another meaningful vote on Monday.
Further afield, in the States, the week will be back-end loaded, with figures for US durable goods orders and a final reading on the University of Michigan's consumer confidence gauge for October due out on Friday.

Across the Channel meanwhile, on Thursday European Central Bank chief, Mario Draghi, will preside over his last policy meeting, although no change in policy settings is expected on this occasion, following last month's somewhat controversial decisions.

Interest rate decisions are also scheduled on Thursday in Norway and Sweden.

On the corporate front meanwhile, the focus will be on trading updates from RBS and Barclays, on Thursday and Friday, respectively.
