US pre-open: Futures trade higher as economic growth worries subside

(Sharecast News) - Wall Street futures were in the green ahead of the bell on Tuesday as a rebounding 10-year Treasury yield eased fears about a deceleration in economic growth figures.
As of 1230 BST, Dow Jones futures were up 0.46%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures were 0.34% and 0.07% higher, respectively.

The Dow closed 97.31 points lower on Friday amid concerns around slowing economic growth.

In focus ahead of the bell, the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note increased to 1.196% in pre-market trading after having almost hit a five-month low on Monday.

The rapidly spreading Covid-19 Delta variant was also continuing to draw an amount of investor attention, with the seven-day average of daily coronavirus cases in the US reaching 72,790 last week, surpassing last summer's peak.

Reopening plays were in the green once again on Tuesday, with the likes of Carnival, American Airlines and Delta all trading higher prior to the open.

On the macro front, June factory orders data will be posted at 1500 BST, while Federal Reserve vice chairman Richard Clarida will deliver a speech at 1900 BST.

In the corporate space, Under Armour, Lyft, Eli Lilly and Amgen will all report on Tuesday.
