(Alliance News) - Barclays Bank PLC on Thursday confirmed two major shareholders in Sophos Group PLC have reduced their holdings.
Late Wednesday, the bank said co-founders Peter Lammer and Jan Hruska were to sell as many as 23.9 million shares in the FTSE 250 cybersecurity firm, representing a 4.9% stake.
Barclays Bank confirmed Thursday the maximum amount of shares were sold at USD7.32 each, netting the two a combined USD174.9 million. The shares were trading at 566.00 pence each Thursday in London, down 0.4%.
Lammer now holds 29.8 million shares, or a 6.1% Sophos stake, with Hruska holding just shy of 25 million shares, or a 5.3% holding. Barclays Bank did not say how the combined share sale was split between the two.
Thoma Bravo LLC is currently trying to buy Abingdon-based Sophos for GBP3 billion. Lammer and Hruska both have accepted the deal, though can reduce their holdings by no more than 30% each before a vote is held.
