SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: EnQuest down; MJ Gleeson tracks Vistry up

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Tuesday.

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

MJ Gleeson PLC, up 6.0% at 848.00 pence, 12-month range 512.00p-910.00p. The housebuilder rises in a mixed day for the sector. Data from Halifax showed that while momentum continues to slow, UK house prices still notched another record high in August. The average UK house price rose 0.7% monthly in August to GBP262,954. The annual growth was 7.1%, slowing from 7.6% in July. In addition, FTSE 250-listed peer Vistry Group PLC raises annual guidance as earnings rise in the first half of 2021. Vistry shares are up 5.8%, but blue-chip peers Persimmon PLC and Taylor Wimpey fall 0.1% and 0.4%.

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

EnQuest PLC, down 2.7% at 21.40p, 12-month range 8.67p-26.95p. Jefferies cuts the oil and gas production company to Hold from Buy, slicing its price target to 24p from 32p.
