(Alliance News) - Nutrition firm Science in Sport PLC said Wednesday it poached ASOS PLC finance executive James Simpson as its new chief financial officer from late September.
Simpson will join the AIM-listed company on September 26, replacing former CFO Elizabeth Lake, who stood down on Tuesday ahead of joining cinema chain Everyman Media Group PLC.
Simpson - a chartered accountant - will join Science in Sport from online clothing retailer ASOS where he is operational finance director. Prior to ASOS, Simpson held senior finance roles at soft drinks maker Britvic PLC and supermarket chain Tesco PLC.
Science in Sport Chair John Clarke said the firm was "delighted" Simpson was joining at such an "exciting time" for the development of the firm.
Clarke added that Simpson "brings a wealth of financial experience gained in the e-commerce and consumer sectors, particularly in the planning and management of international growth."
Share in Science in Sport were 0.6% higher at 52.82 pence in London on Wednesday.
