PageGroup promotes Nick Kirk as CEO designate to take over next year

(Alliance News) - PageGroup PLC on Tuesday said it has promoted UK and US head Nick Kirk to chief executive officer-designate with immediate effect.

The Surrey-based recruiter said Kirk will officially take over as CEO and join the board on January 1 next year.

Current CEO Steve Ingham will step down and from the board with effect from December 31. He has been in charge of the company for 16 years since 2006. In 2019 he became a wheelchair user in after a skiing accident.

Kirk joined PageGroup in 1995 as a consultant in Michael Page Sales in the UK and was promoted to lead that discipline in 2007. In 2013, he was promoted to regional managing director.

In 2018, he became the UK managing director, and last year he became responsible for the group's North American business, in addition to running all UK operations.

Chair Angela Seymour-Jackson said: "Nick has been critical to the success of the group to date, having a proven track record of leading the business in key markets such as the UK and North America. Nick's extensive understanding of the company and its culture will ensure PageGroup continues on its successful growth trajectory."

Kirk added: "After nearly 28 years with PageGroup, it is an incredible honour to be appointed as the next CEO."

Earlier this month, PageGroup said it expected annual operating profit in line with GBP204 million market consensus. It reported GBP168.5 million in operating profit in 2021.

Shares were up 2.5% at 428.40 pence each on Tuesday morning in London.
