LONDON, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Legal & General has promoted Laura Mason to lead its retail division and hired Katie Worgan from Lloyds Banking Group to the newly-created role of group chief operating officer, as a revamp under CEO Antonio Simoes continues.
Mason, currently CEO in the insurer's Private Markets unit, will take up her post in December, L&G said on Wednesday.
She succeeds veteran executive Bernie Hickman, who is leaving the group at the end of the year to pursue new opportunities, the company added.
Worgan will join the business in the first quarter of 2025 and will lead L&G's operations, technology, digital and data, procurement and property and workplace strategies. She is currently managing director and chief operating officer of consumer relationships at Lloyds, Britain's top mortgage lender.
"We are making rapid progress on our vision for a growing, simpler, better-connected business. Today's leadership appointments reflect our intention to continue to move at pace to implement our strategy," Simoes said in a statement. (Reporting by Sinead Cruise, editing by Kirstin Ridley)
