Italy's Salvini says citizen's income scheme needs reviewing - paper

MILAN, Aug 14 (Reuters) - Italy's Deputy Prime MinisterMatteo Salvini said on Wednesday the citizen's income schemeintroduced earlier this year would need reviewing if the Leaguewon elections.

"With our government (pension reform plans) areuntouchable... it will rather be necessary to reassess thecitizen's income," Salvini said in an interview in dailyCorriere della Sera.

Salvini, who is also Interior Minister in a year-oldcoalition with the anti-establishment 5-Star party, said lastweek the governing alliance had become unworkable and said hewanted elections as soon as October.

Salvini, who is head of the right-wing League, said he wouldwant cabinet undersecretary Giancarlo Giorgetti to be Treasuryminister if his party won elections.
