Irish wholesale inflation speeds up to 2.8% annually in June

(Alliance News) - Ireland's wholesale prices rose at a faster pace in June, according to official data on Monday.

The Central Statistics Office said wholesale price inflation sped up to 2.8% on an annual basis in June from 0.9% in May.

Wholesale prices rose 2.3% in June from May, after having fallen 2.8% in May from April.

Electricity prices were unchanged month-on-month, but were 8.0% below their June 2023 level. Prices of food products rose 0.4% over the month, but were down 4.4% from the prior year.

Notable annual price rises were seen in categories such as chemicals, and mining & quarrying, the CSO noted.
