Ireland Trade Surplus Widens In August As Exports Rise, Imports Fall

(Alliance News) - Ireland's trade surplus widened in August following a rise in exports and fall in imports, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office on Thursday.

The CSO said Ireland recorded a trade surplus of EUR6.77 billion in August, widening from EUR5.19 billion in July.

Seasonally adjusted goods exports increased 6.4% to EUR14.04 billion in August from EUR13.20 billion in July. Imports decreased by 9.1% to EUR7.27 billion in August from EUR8.00 billion in July.
