Ireland consumer prices accelerate on monthly basis in March

(Alliance News) - Ireland consumer inflation quickened monthly in March, official figures showed Thursday.

According to the Central Statistics Office, consumer prices rose 0.8% month-to-month in March, following February's 0.4% growth.

Annually consumer prices were zero in March, having fallen 0.4% in February.

On a yearly basis, CSO noted a 6.5% drop in clothing & footwear and a 2.7% fall in transport.

On a harmonised basis, allowing to EU-wide comparison, consumer prices rose 0.9% monthly and 0.1% yearly.
